Even though Jaylon stinks I think CB and safety should be a higher priority. Please do not use a 1st round pick on linebacker. That TCU linebacker is a baller though.

I'm still in the camp of CB followed by a centerfield safety then DT's, LB's and another corner to fill out your draft

I hope this happens. Cowboys just got to use more draft capital on defense. I think they found something in Wilson. A FS drafted in 2nd to pair with him would be fine with me. Surtain or Farley in 1st round would look good opposite Diggs.

The potential is there to add playmakers which would mean even more forced turnovers. Diggs and Wilson are not flukes when it comes to forcing turnovers. They led the team in forcing turnovers and neither played a full season.

Jaylon Smith is the worst starting LB I've seen in a Cowboy uniform and I watched Bradie James.

That might be,.... no it is an over statement.

I'd say you're living in the present, and forgetting the past.

I'm with Earl basically for the one goal line play in the SF game. Not since 3rd grade Pop Warner have I ever seen a LB retreat when the other team is at the 2 yard line cause a blocker was coming at him

Bradie was horrible, Bobby was a horrendous.
Smith isn't good right now, but he's not the worse LB in Cowboys history.

I never base my analysis on just the present. I base it on the body of work. Bradie was bad, slow, and had bad football instincts but at least when he was told to blitz, he did it without hesitation. Jaylon even hesitates when he's told to blitz. I was giving Jaylon a pass for a couple of years because of the devastating injury he came back from, but he's healthy now. He seems to care more about his brand than football too and the swipe shit getting old, which makes me dislike him even more.

This seems to be the two....if it's me and both were on the board, I take Farley, I'm not sure about Surtain's speed. Cook outta S Carolina sure looks like a player as well and I might consider him over Surtain.
Surtain I just dont know about..there is the speed thing and he also grabs lots and that will draw a flag.. I think Farley with that speed has a higher ceiling.. he kind of reminds me of Byron Jones with ball skills.

That LSU CB is the first corner whose play reminds me of Deion. He wont be eligible until 2022 draft. He is a top 3 talent. So fast and fluid. baits the QB to throw like Deion did. Possible generational talent

Barbie Carpenter was the worst in Cowboy history IMO. Mr. Almost there.
He certainly was the worst by far of the last couple of decades if you take draft spot into account. First round for a guy that just never really played. Then he went elsewhere and wasn't any better. Didn't he go to Sea after having a good playoff game against them? Or was it another team?

Been thinking about this manster and it's still cool with me if we disagree but I wanted to explain why Carpenter wasn't worse. That's because he wasn't good enough to get on the field. He started 3 games in 4 years in Dallas. He was an absolute bust pick by Parcells at #18 in round one but he didn't have near the negative impact Jaylon has on the field....cause Carpenter didn't see the field all that much. Parcells wouldn't play his ass even with Bobby being his pick. Carpenter was indeed an all time first round bust for Dallas but based on actual impact in the game, Jaylon is all time bad....and thats on Jerry's ego as they continue to put him on the field

Like you said. We can agree to disagree, as each are our opinions.
