I’m guessing that given AP’s general shedding of previous regime’s
draft picks, it is entirely lilely that he (AP) feels as though both Allen and Payne were drafted too high by Bruce Allen.

It’s hard to argue with that assessment if true, considering most everybody drafted and signed by AP has worked out for the commanders, and most everybody let go by the commanders has not found success elsewhere.

Certainly DaRon Payne played much better in a contract year.

If the commanders are getting similar production from other team’s castoffs (sheldon day, et al), then there is no reason to overpay for Jon Allen’s middling services.

Imagine what the numbers look like not having jacked up ribs for 3 games. If you remember, they limited his run plays and he was OFF target those weeks clearly to the naked eye regardless of what pundits said.
