So what is your definition of getting it together?
No drama, getting this team playing hard and disciplined, and maybe 7+ wins. Cousins or rg3 actually showing something could help too.

Playing hard and disciplined is valid. 7+ wins is a stretch. Doubt any coach could get that from this team and this dysfunctional franchise. im not sold on gruden yet, either. But what we have been doing isn't working. New coach every two years, etc. unless the team just quits on him, he deserves a chance to implement his plan with his guys unimpeded. He has yet to have that opportunity. In fact, no coach other than Gibbs has had that opportunity. No drama, getting this team playing hard and disciplined, and maybe 7+ wins. Looked to me like Gruden and his coaching staff put together a helluva game plan yesterday. Coaches coach, and players play. If some of the players had made just one or two more plays out there, the outcome of the game would have been totally different.
Amazing how some of see a game...
This may be the closets statement that rings true to how things unfolded Sunday however, it was the most vanilla game plan in the NFL on Sunday and Gruden & his team failed to capitalize on a winnable game. We may not have more "winnable" games in our future this season. Once again, Cousins showed why he is a backup and please don't give me the excuse that the throw to Garcon was a great play by the defender because he shouldn't have thrown it to a covered Garcon. Coaches also select players like A. Roberts to start and to continue dropping balls all over the field. Look, we are not very good so why not play guys like Crowder to give them valuable experience now so when we actually have chances to win, they will have the experience to come up clutch or make a play or two as you have pointed out.
I think our decision making is improving with SM however, it simply won't come full circle until we get a bonafide coach in here that is capable of taking this team to the next level. No, I don't believe for one second that Gruden is that coach for the Washington Redskins.
Your point dad? When we are 0-4 what will the excuses be?all this for one game ?
i am glad you have a crystal ball but i think i will let us play the games before i predict 0-4Your point dad? When we are 0-4 what will the excuses be?

Seriously the Redskins have a culture problem and it starts at the top with Dan Snyder Great fan ok on the ownership side but poor in the football decisions so far.
I did not think that Gruden was the right fit for your football team as a HC he is a excellent OC but HC not so much but that's opinion and nothing more.
Until Snyder decides to step way back and let SM make all the football decisions you have a mess on your hands. RG3 should be traded or time to cut your losses and just cut him mistakes were made and its simply time to move on. Gruden will get the axe at the end of the season unless he goes 8-8 IMHO. Then SM will make the most critical hire of a new coach. who ? That's the question but the 2 things that must be in place for the next coaching staff to succeed is that Dan has to stay in the marketing of the team and out of football decisions and RG3 has to be gone.
Otherwise the 3 ring Circus will still be in DC and the results the same

SO I will again ask the two questions every one seems to duck after making statements like this.
1. IF not Cousins, who should be the starting QB and why??
2. IF we are to fire Gruden as you suggest, who do we bring in to work with said named QB from question #1.
Bonus question for Extra credit... say we are going to go new coach AND new QB entirely..... Do we give this combination more that 17 games before we start screaming fuck it he cant coach and his chosen QB is a bum??
You touch on a very good pt here. It is not simply the fact that Cousins throws a lot of INTS (that stat on Sun showing that he has the highest rate in NFL over last year or so is troubling) - it is his tendency to throw into coverage quite a bit. I would somewhat equate this with RG3's tendency to run too often.
Cousins needs to resist this temptation even if it might result in an incompletion or stalled drive. This is much easier said then done since most QBs resort to certain tendencies under pressure. So - like most things - you have to look at the root cause and not simply the results. Maybe he will work this out over time.

Where do you keep getting this 17 game figure? For Gruden that would mean that he will be fired in the next few days. Be real - he will almost certainly be here through the season & at the absolute worst during the last few games of the season. That sounds like 30-32 games to me.
Again - might be fun to debate - but kind of waste of time since I don't believe that SM & co view things in this same fashion as people here.
