Like I said, a player who is 24 is still developing. It's fine to assess what he's already done, but it's premature to say that it's concrete proof that he'll never be anything more.

It started with him in 2010 when the OP was butthurt people talked about Heyward more than Boesch. Too stupid to realize Boesch was a non-prospect for a reason. Light-hitting/below average defensive corner OFers are nothing to get excited about.

Heyward's bat has been a bit disappointing, but he's still been a pretty decent hitter (career .352 OBP, .443 SLG%, 115 OPS+) and he's a fantastic fielder. Fangraphs' WAR has him at 16.5 in four seasons, BB-Ref has him at 18.4. I would love to have that kind of "bust" on my team.

Seriously? Im a detroit fan and I knew they needed to trade brennan while he still had some value. Guys dont just magically become elite for the most part. There are very few exceptions to this. You are what your averages are. Thats why so many ppl struggle at fantasy baseball. They trade or drop lifelong studs when they struggle for several weeks and sign guys that have always sucked but are streaking.

Well to be fair when he first came up at the age of 20 he was hyped a ton.

And he had an excellent rookie year to live up to that hype for at least that year (131 OPS+, 6.4 WAR)....unfortunately for him though, he hasn't surpassed his rookie year yet (there's been injuries along the way, but he hasn't take in to that next level yet).
