No link, watching the guy from PFT... Mentions that Allen could be on block with teams like Denver, Sf n Seattle as possible destinations

SF?

What would the Niners do with Jared Allen?

And if they can't fit Richard Seymour under the cap, how are they gonna fit Allen?

That $14.2 mil salary this year is going to be tricky for anyone to fit under the cap.

I don't like the way he fits into this scheme. Excellent player but I don't like the scheme fit.

Curiosity more than anything, but can the Vikes eat part of the money, like baseball?

They could, but they wouldn't. That would essentially be saying Allen has no trade value, and he has.

Not necesarily. It's saying his cap number lowers his value and taking part of the hit maximizes their return.

Doubt he would fit under the cap not to mention what it would cost in draft picks to acquire him.

As far as scheme fit I think like most talented pass rushers they can work with any scheme stand up or hand in the ground.

But I think the team is confident Aldon will be back this season and is happy with what Lemonier and Brooks bring to the table.

I mean if we're going to go after a position in a trade it should be WR and nothing else.

Well they could probably get something good without paying Allen not to play for 'em, so I think that would be unrealistic.

If I were the Vikings, I'd try to end the Greg Jennings experiment by trading him (if they could) and throw Patterson into the fire alongside Jerome Simpson.

Yea give up the damn 2nd for Gordon. We just had our 3rd officially move to a 2nd today. Just worried about relying on 2 WR with major injuries.

The question isn't what they could get with or without doing so, but rather the difference in return. If eating 5mil significantly increased what they could command back, it's worth seriously considering.

A valid point, but is a team really gonna increase its offer in terms of a draft pick significantly for a few million dollars of cap space? Maybe if you're talking 7th VS 6th round, but if you're talking 2nd VS 3rd or even 3rd VS 4th I don't think so.

Yes, they will. The contract has a huge impact on a guy's trade value.
