Not sure I like not giving an offer to Kennedy. Now if he leaves we get nothing.

could it be, that by not offering him a qualifying offer, then he doesn't have arbitration rights?
I know that sometimes comes into play.

otherwise, it doesn't make much sense. $725k + 10% is just over $800k to qualify him.
surely they would offer him that much?

they still get exclusive rights to him until July 1, but it's a gamble.

Kennedy is a tough gamble to begin with.

He had one hell of a second half of the season, but he did it when he was skating in a position that probably wouldn't have been there without other injuries.

I know he's young, and he does have very good scoring capabilities, I just have the feeling that his role could be replaced easily in free agency, and I have my doubts he is a 25 goal scorer in the NHL.

I can't believe this is the same guy (TK) 90% of Pens fans wanted to be cut at training camp last fall...

Comrie was going to take his job, haha.

I really shouldn't get my hops up, but I'm just so damn interested. Maybe Ron Francis and Kevin Stevens will come out of retirement to play with Crosby too!

I was thinking maybe Jagr can talk Mario into lacing them up and playing special teams! LoL

Why not? He could take the place of Godard on the roster. We have a better fighter in Engo, anyways :D

It's true Evo! The powerplay, well - it couldn't be much worse, right?

I have always liked TK, He isnt a great player but he brings and does what he has to do to be effective. He is twice the player Talbot is.

It was about as bad as it could get in the playoffs. And to think we blamed it all on Yeo :L

It's just the scheme. In my opinion (worthless), the powerplay looked the best when Malkin rotates to the point. Maybe put Letang on the left half-wall. I dunno.

Well Yeo had a lot more to work with than we had in the playoffs

No Gonchar
No Sid
No Geno

At the same time, the rest of the roster should be able to pick it up. We praise Staal all the time for being that top-2 center that just plays on the third line. Letang, we consider him one of the better up-in-coming blueliners. Paul Martin? Kennedy? Kunitz? I think the roster was there enough for a respectable powerplay percentage. Whuddayagonnadoo?

I get it, but most of them werent ready to take those roles since the roster was in flux. I dont think there are any real finishers except Staal maybe Neal who was trying to fit in after the trade. Not excuses for what we got but Yeo was garbage.

Most recent rumor from a Russian website is that Jags will go with Pitt for 1.4 million. HOWEVER, that's probably 99% untrue seeing as Jags is in the air at this moment and an announcement won't be made until he lands. So.

I'm with you. It sounds like more news sources just trying to have "their take" to promote their site/paper.

Evo, if I wasn't totally sold o him earlier, I am now. Granted, we'll have an aging Jagr, but I'll take whatever I can get.
