as I understand it (and I'm rarely wrong)

he CAN sign now, but he'd need to clear waivers to stick with that team.
if he waits until July 1, he won't have to.

Someone at the Swamp is "reporting" Jagr is signed by the Pens for $2.5 million per year. Seems like BS to me, but who knows. No word yet on the compensation his hair would receive, but I'm guessing it's commanding at least 600K per right now.

No, he's NOT allowed to sign until July 1st. This was news late last week because of a blackout period in the CBA between the draft and FA beginning. So, the Swamp is wrong...he can't sign right now.

?!?! The Pens weren't going near that number. I know the guy from the swamp...he posted at the end of our tenure. No real source. Probably just his gut. 2.5 is the number that's been thrown around the most, and he probably just has a buddy who's on the 'inside'.

LSDKfjaldkjfalsjdff...Jagr Watch is heating up. Rossi saying the Pens current plan is to sign both he and TK before Friday. Interested to see the numbers on each, just to see what the plan is outside of those two to fill out the rest of the lineup.

Now, we all know what to think of this chump, Mr. Gonchar to the Sharks, but 2 years is out of left field in the rumor world. Only makes sense if the cap hit is REAL low. And I doubt he does that.

I like this plan. I like it. There's not a player in FA that it'll be really hard to pass on and in our price range.
