I think somebody had mentioned the package would likely be something along the lines of JJ, Tedenby, D prospect, picks. He's a legit 30 goal scorer, signed through 2015, with a cap hit under 6 and he's only 25. He will not come cheap.

i would make that move in a second. jj cant stay healthy and we have a 1/2 center combo. tedenby hasnt shown anything of interest. i would throw in merrill if i had to sweeten the pot. wouldnt mind to get a d prospect in return

"Extremely poor management to lose your captain and all-star franchise player for NOTHING to UFA... I don't care who the player is or where my team is in the standings come trade deadline, if I am GM any UFA player unsigned before trade deadline is dealt - period."

True, because we probably would have made it to the finals with whatever we got in return for him at the deadline... That reporter is an ignorant ass.

If we would get Ryan for Parise, I think we could get to where we got - Cup finals. You can say this after things happen, but GM has to be smarter in advance.

We can debate if it was finances or whatever that led to him not getting signed last offseason. But the way I see it is, we had a roster that was capable of winning the cup this year. Half the team were free agents this offseason and the other half are free agents next year. There is no guarantee what the team will look like, we had to be in a win now mentality. It was a gamble that we needed to take and it came very close to paying off.
