Once you have Wilson rollout, things become far less certain.
Obviously in hindsight they should have done something else. But neither Bevell or Carroll are blessed with knowing the future.
You do what the other team doesn't expect. Several things failed on that play which resulted in a very tight interception that could have just as easily been called PI.
They broke every golden rule in the NFL on one play
- you don't motion out the best RB in the game and remove him as a running threat
- you don't throw into traffic anywhere near the GL
- you don't leave your seasons' fate in te hands of the worst receiver on your roster
A better receiver at the very least, assures that ball isn't picked
