Maybe one day people will realize why it was the worst call in the history of the NFL

Bevells 2 choices weren't just run Lynch , or split Lynch out wide and run a spread offense, completely removing any threat of a run

That's what made it the worst call ever. As soon as Lynch ran in motion, smart Pats fans collectively said "thank you God"

You don't throw a first pitch curveball if its the bottom of the 9th and you have a closer that you to the World Series because he throws 100. The curveball pitch is Wilson running. Wilson passing would be like throwing a forkball.

Pretty good analysis, but I'd contend that there was no 100 closer; low-to-mid 90's would be more accurate.

Also, what's this "World Series" you speak of? - Brewers fan

I don't have a problem with "A" pass there

I have a problem with motioning Lynch, dropping Wilson straight back, and throwing a pass on the middle of the field to the worst receiver on the roster

Guy had over 300 yards, 4 tds, over 70% completion, over 100 QBR and helped orchestrate the biggest 2nd half comeback in SB really isn't a flatout joke. Edelman was huge and could have shared in the award. Guy was 37/50, so obviously the offense rested on his shoulders
impressive...two passes all day went for 20 yards. Average per attempt musta been a record too for the winning team. Opinions vary when Butler's plays at the end determined the winner of the game. That's a game MVP to me the way that game played out but you fellows go ahead and strut

He called a fucking timing pattern over the middle with the SB on the line with a mobile QB. That's just stupid. I remember when they tried the same sort of thing earlier with the same result. That was a horrible call. Bevell's a liability and Wilson performs his best when they're forced to throw his stupid, ultra-conservative offense out the window and let Wilson do his thing.

26 seconds left.

A long drawn out bootleg is not exactly ideal.

Sure it is

They had a TO and the option to toss it out of bounds if something doesn't develop

26 seconds was a lifetime in that spot

Obviously if you have to chuck it 50 times, means the running game isn't working. Imo 1 play doesnt determine a MVP, but I think Edelman deserved Co-MVP

MVP's rarely make one play, shit i cant think of any.

can anyone name an MVP from a prior SB that made literally one play in the game?

I'd first have to find the one play that literally prevented a SB loss

Excluding Vinatieri

seriously, try and find one. even larry brown got his on more than his pick. he started the whole game. same with dexter jackson...butler was a late sub.

he pushed kearse out of bounds, and made that pick...

Once you have Wilson rollout, things become far less certain.

Obviously in hindsight they should have done something else. But neither Bevell or Carroll are blessed with knowing the future.

You do what the other team doesn't expect. Several things failed on that play which resulted in a very tight interception that could have just as easily been called PI.
