I never got into this. I tried S1 (pre-Devito), but I don’t even think I was able to complete it, it was sooooo dumb. This was a few years ago, so I don’t remember specifically what I didn’t like about it. Does it get measurably better once Devito joins?

DeVito definitely made the show a lot better. But in my opinion, the past few seasons has dropped somewhat in quality as its become more hit or miss than the majority being hits of the earlier years.

The Ireland episodes have been really good so far. The Monkey one was pretty solid as well. The flashback to 98 episode was hot garbage. Maybe the worst episode they've ever done

I watched every episode in order on hulu during the winter. I had to catch a few of the banned ones (5 total) from the russian freedom fighters.

The early seasons had me laughing out loud.

The banned ones are also some of the best.

The Eagles winning the Super Bowl was epic.

Franks money really lets them get into some higher level shenanigans they couldn't do in the early seasons. The early seasons are much more raw with exploratory comedy. Like a stand up comedian testing what will land.

They do clever social commentary now. Less bursting laughs, but still edgy. They can get away with a lot in that setting, because of the way they've set up the characters as awful people.

This. For the second episode, I liked the Frank, Dee and Dennis stuff more than the Mac and Charlie stuff.

I was hoping the Charlie's sisters bit would have led to a better pay off either in the episode or down the road. Preseason press sorta made a big deal about Charlie's forgotten sisters, which was just a couple of throwaway lines in some of the early seasons.
