It's already starting between Tommy Armstrong and Johnny Stanton

Stanton came in immediately and is speaking up and assuming a leadership role........been spending every waking second studying the playbook.......is expected to give Tommy a run for his money this season already for the backup position.

If Stanton jumps ahead of Tommy early, I predict Tommy transfers. If it's the other way around, I predict both stay.

You just can't underestimate a guy like Johnny Stanton, because the amount of work they are willing to put in and the amount of bullshit they are willing to put up with will end up sending them to the top every time.

Johnny may be a more vocal leader but I think tommy has that killer competitor in him just like Stanton does. I think tommy with hold him off

It's so easy for everyone of us to just look at Tommy Armstrong and immediately anoint him as the next best thing.....

But when a coach gets a guy like Johnny Stanton, it makes it really really difficult. It's gonna be interesting to see how this all pans out.

I predict that Tommy takes the 2nd spot on the roster this season, but that ultimately Johnny will end up ahead of him down the road.

You saw what happened at elite 11. He would have won it had he not had to miss parts of it because he had 7 on 7's w/ his HS team.

He came in there and made Christian Hackenberg and Max Browne look like sissies.

Obviously this is a whole new ball game. He's not throwing on air and this isn't some gay ass ESPN reality show. This is big boy FB.

Still I saw that and new he had what it took mentally to come in here and push Tommy hard. He didn't come here to spectate.

I just heard it from Steve Taylor on el radio.....

Taylor actually went in and talked to all of the newcomers and said that Johnny even called him afterwards and thanked him and everything.

He definitely has Tebow-like character.

Yeah everyone who's seen his interviews got that kind of vibe from him.

I don't think he's a jesus freak though. Religious, but he's not gonna shove it down your throat. He's more laid back.

If the coaches were smart they redshirt Johnny and then zack when he come next year buying everyone an extra year

But I don't see us keeping all three they are all legit D-1 qb that can start anywhere. This almost reminds me of 2011 with the AA green heard. I'm keeping my fingers cross but if you want to have a chance in the pro you can't wait 2-3 seasons playing back up. I hope they all stay!'
