Its a good message to put out. But the PC Nazi's will simply label them confused sell outs ho dont know whats good for them or should offend them. I would love to see this issue go away finally. But one thing about the PC Nazi's, they never surrender and in todays USA, they always manage to win eventually.

What's your point? An ad sponsored by the ownership of the team and people of like mind agree on this, is that your point? Well, here's another. You omitted the word some after the word "what" and prior to "Native"......sign me PC Nazi

Honestly, I don't understand why the team would put this out now. The season is starting up and it seems as if the issue has died down a bit. Why rekindle it just before the season begins?

As for the message itself, I have to agree with Stymiee......its a team sponsored ad so of course its it going to present the point in favor of Snyder's position. Again, not sure who they are trying to sway with this message and why they want to give fuel to the PC media who will use this to plaster the issue on the front page for the next week to 10 days.

I have no problem with the timing. Why has it died down I would ask those that were fighting in favor of the name change. And to the message of a Warriors name, well that sends a message that people need to look at. There are team names that represent groups in history that pillaged, raped and murdered innocent people. Those groups are not being attacked because it is not relevant? Conveniently narrow minded I would say.

Pretty sure if a group of Nordes got on a boat and came here today and killed thousands of Americans, no one would be in a hurry to start up an NFL team and name them Vikings... or Bucs, or Raiders. I have no problem in lighting things up when their flame is dying out.

arent the people who oppose the name putting people on who support their viewpoint ? but that is more valid then the teams point of view ?

so far the only real voice being heard is the vocal minority and the PC crowd

who are they going after ? the uneducated /undecided person

why put it out now ? because king and oberman have relaunched their campaign in recent weeks and their viewpoint is the only one being heard

Good post. This kind of supports my point of view on this issue. As I have stated before - I won't have a major issue if they decide to eventually change the name. However - I hate seeing this constant stream of older white guys & Native American reps who are obviously being funded & will profit financially being the only ones who speak up on this issue.

What about the everyday Native Americans? According to this & just about every poll taken they either don't care about the name or support the name. Why is their voice unimportant according to some? This video also pretty much puts to bed the theory that the term Redskins is the equivalent of using the "N" word. Could anyone in their right mind imagine a video where several African Americans spoke up in similar fashion and support that term? No way in hell. I always thought that this was one of the stupidest arguments on the planet.

Oh well - jy I believe that you are correct about the timing. However - with the Skins due to play several national games in the near future you better believe that this argument will be rekindled very soon. You can also chalk this one up to Snyder's ego - for better or worse.

Sure there will continue to be the minority PC crowd that will scream occasionally, but most of them will soon tire and move onto their next PC issue. If I were the skins, I would take a more muted tone at this point. Basically, I would ignore them as they just don't have the clout to be anything more than obnoxious.

George Will just wrote a good Opinion piece about this. The basis of it is why is our government saying this is a bad name when most Native Americans support the name.

You're probably right. It just isn't the way I would handle it. It just doesn't appear to me that the issue has the support it needs to succeed. Until we see a dollar hit in Danny's pocket, his stance won't change. To date, not one sponsor or partner has backed out. If that happens with any numbers, then we will see movement on this issue.

Your comment about the sponsors reminded me of the Clippers situation. Granted - as much as some may not like him Snyder is nowhere near as bad as Donald Sterling. However - Sterling demonstrated somewhat similar behavior in his terrible situation. When these guys are pushed on these issues they are kind of like cornered animals & will do whatever is possible to fight back - even when it really makes no sense!

I also don't see this having a significant $$ impact for a very, very long time. For as many people who fight the name (or appear to for some other reason) there are tons of fans & other folks who now support the name more than ever.

Just about every week I run into lots of non-Skins fans (I now live in Alabama) who are more passionate about not changing the name than me or probably most people on this forum. They view this as a PC issue & another case where the govt is telling us how to act & live & they are probably correct.

the skins are the 9th most valuable franchise in the WORLD , that is right WORLD . Sponsors arent going to back out of jack with that franchise no matter how vocal the PC police gets

I knew we were a valuable franchise, top 5 in the NFL, but didn't realize 9th in the world. Wow.

so much for this issue "going away " and how the "ignore it and it will go away strategy is foolish "

now we have a ref who wouldnt referee redskins games because of the name

we have 2 announcers who wont use the name and one who thinks they should use it

and now ditka facing a suspension from espn because he supports the name

so i go back to my original point the team has to get their side out

i know a lot of people who call themselves "fans " arent . they are "observers " . there is nothing worse then an observer who thinks he is a fan
