Meaning it is harder.
Which is harder. (an exaggeration for effect) beating a playoff team once in a row or 5 times in a row?

#1 seeds are always favorites to win, but your data does show it is harder.

I don't think it's uniquely harder per se. It's just hard to beat a team 3 times because 33% three times is well, above 50%.

I do think it is. Factors to take into consideration: 1. The team that won the first two games are they perhaps over confident or a bit complacent thinking they'll win again? 2. If the team that lost the first two games, isn't smart enough to try to do something different in the third match-up then that's history repeating itself.
