It was about as "dirty" as the Orpik knee on Franzen in the pre-season that had the Red Wings up in arms. Therefore not dirty at all.

I'd say it was probably accidental but I can see why players on the team would be all paranoid and mad about it. Those hockey players get so sensitive sometimes.

Not even close. I think that it could've been 2 for interference, but that's at the most. However, when the players are a part of it, it always seems worse than it really is. I'm sure talk happened on the ice too that didn't help the cause.

I thought Crosby and Bylsma both said they thought it was accidental after the game.

I don't know. Crosby is skating backwards, he doesn't even see Steckel... I woudn't give him a minor for that. ;)

I'll go a step further and suggest that HBO told Steckle to take him out.

Rumor has it this is the guy from HBO that wanted him to sweep the leg, but then changed his mind:

I don't know how Crosby could know whether it was accidental or not, skating backwards with his head down. :L

It must have been dirty, the player was down on the ice for a little while and was disoriented when the period was over. Why else would a player do that when all that moaning and groaning could have hurt his own team?

Oh whats that? It was Crosby? Nevermind, ignore post.

In all seriousness, man up once in a while. As much as I despise the Pens, I do really like some players (especially Crosby). I enjoy watching his talent, but when he throws his hissyfits it just makes him unbearable to watch. Makes the sport and makes hockey players look bad, especially on such a big stage as the Winter Classic. For the sake of hockey, don't cry for once, don;t make excuses, and show some class after the game.

I am allll about a nice rivalry and saying F the other team, but wrong place wrong time.

The Pens were bitching almost as much as Mike Richards does after games.

Richards didn't bitch, moan, or even play dead during the Winter Classic, did he?

Ok? He has whined after other games. So have most players. Especially after getting hit in the head. They seem to get mad and take offense to that, even ones that looked accidental to the viewers. Oh wait, it was Cindy breaking the robot and speaking up this time so I guess we better make a big deal out of it...
