Rodgers and Peyton couldn't beat Seattle and he did. @Arizona, Seattle is about as brutal as 2 weeks get and still over 7.0 YPA.

He's Superman with a bolo tie.

LOL. You can always count on someone finding an old thread when a player has a terrible game. That was a terrible game by the entire team, including Rivers. Hopefully an anomaly, but we'll see in the next few weeks.

Rivers lost some of his career due to Norv Turner still running the '92 Cowboys offense for too long in San Diego.

That offense is fine when you have a top notch workhorse running back and a serviceable offensive line. Once LT started falling off, it was only a matter of time.

If you really watch Rivers...I don't think anyone consistently fits the ball in tighter windows on down field passes. He's absolutely sick.

That said, you can't say he's the best QB in the game. Those years where he was forcing all those throws which resulted in a ton of INT's still count against them, even though the offense he was running had played out. He's clearly the best QB of that draft class of his, but I do suspect had Norv been given the boot when needed, he'd be universally considered in the Manning-Brady-Rodgers-Brees class.

Rivers does seem to sadly be entrenched in a decline phase right now. Can't seem to maintain the same level of effectiveness for 16 games anymore.

ill take ben
Right now?

Brady and Ryan for sure. Probably Rodgers third.

I think Keenan Allen is underrated in the whole Rivers equation but he is Charmin soft and can't stay on the field. Rivers play falls off significantly when he loses weapons.

I remember being quite bored when I made this thread

Big Ben is the best for sure. There was a good 7 year span where he was at the top tier of QBs imo.

Honestly, I think Rivers has kept them from a few 2-14 type of seasons with his heroic mediocrity.

I know, wasn't saying he wasn't good but never had him as top 1 except for maybe one year that he got jobbed out of MVP by Peyton. I always had him in around the 6-7 spot Brady,Peyton, Rodgers,Brees in Ben top 5 in any order depending on year. And he is one tough SOB Him, Eli and Brady are in top 10 of most consecutive games played. maybe Flacco too

I'll give you Brady, although I don't think so....but to put Ryan ahead of Rodgers is insane IMO. Did you think Cam Newton was better as well after last year? Rodgers is still the best QB in football, and one year doesn't make any difference really.

As for Rivers, I think you can make the case that he's the best QB from his class.
