Striking out against a position player is no sin. It's hard to hit a ball thrown 55 mph.

T-Bone can play minor league ball as long as he wants. He's about 7 years older than everybody else on any team, so if he's that anal about his social world, bring on the Ripple.

I hope this is sarcasm because a pitch of that speed isn't even the fastest setting in most community batting cages.

Yes.

It's not like he's ever going to nail a slump buster.

Well I can hit 55 (and did last year) but I'm 73 years old. Take your average big-league hitter who gears up for 94 and somebody throws a lollypop. They can't time it. It's called below hitting speed.
If you give anybody 50 swings at BP fastballs or less, they will hit it but it probably will be a 6-hopper to the shortstop because the ball isn't supplying any power.
In any event, a guy who can't hit a 2-seamer thrown by a position player is amusing but it's not indicative of his lack of talent. Tebow is not a good ballplayer, so that's not the issue. If he got 5 more swings at that 55 mph heater, he'd hit it. Maybe not into the river, but he'd hit it.

I thought this was about Dustin Pedroia.

Well............

They both should give it up and find something else to do.

It’s harder hit pitches slower than batting practice than you’d think, especially if you’ve been seeing 90+ all game.

I can’t remember his name, but in the early 2000’s there was a reliever for the White Sox that lived in the mid 50’s. He was good for about a season, and then the league adjusted and he was out of baseball shortly thereafter.
