No wishful thinking, just noting a trendline. Meyer does well at the outset (with the previous coaches players), starts struggling with his, then quits because of "health" problems. So I hope you enjoyed that winning streak that meant nothing.

so once = a trend.

Go back to school son.

...Michigan will still probably lose to Ohio State.

Not on ACTs, Michigan is a twenty point favorite year in year out over the lower primates at OSU.:suds:

I'll admit the trend (though SEVERELY in question due to Tressell's cheating) is a bit disturbing, but as long as we still own the All-Time rivalry (only thirteen games better - that's pathetic I concur) I won't lose any sleep over it.

All time record doesn't really mean much when they got a twenty game lead in the 1800's because they started playing organized football many years prior.

I'll take this current domination that I get to witness over an all time record that is based on wins in the 1800s any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Fair enough, I'm new to these boards...............on FN the Wolverine faithful were quite knowledgeable.

I went to U of I (proud of my education, NOT my alma mater's sports programs).

Ohio State is a very nice campus and has some VERY good programs in the Arts my sister was a protege bassoonist and got a full ride there - she was born in Michigan (Livonia to be specific, the rest of us Philly) and used to wear M Go Blue attire all the time there - she had stones, needless to say.

Did you attend OSU and if so when did you graduate?

Even if a lot of those wins under Tressell have asterisks like Michigan's Fab Five bball program?

Two words:

John

Cooper

Even with Braxton Miller Michigan nearly beat your ass twice (and actually did once). And that's while they were still in rebuilding mode. So go ahead and keep thinking this is still a Rich Rod team, that will make this year's victory all the sweeter.

Two words: Brady Hoke (1-2 vs. Ohio State, soon to be 1-3)

Two more words: RichRod (0-3)

And a fact: Tricky Tressel owned Lloyd Carr (1-6)

"Michigan NEARLY beat your ass twice"

But they didn't so what's the point again?

Well to be fair the Buckeyes 2010 W over that damn team has an asterisk. Thanks Tat 5!

Fine. Take away one win. There are plenty more during this current stretch of domination.

Even though getting tattoos isn't cheating. Its not like they got to practice longer than other teams. <wink wink>

That given the talent gap, by all rights the game shouldn't have even been close.

So what happens when Michigan has catches up with talent/depth? Which given the way Hoke is recruiting will be soon (if not this year).

So again, I hoped you enjoyed the recent years, because the tide is about to turn.

So I'll grant you Rich Rod, but remember, even St. Tressel was only 1-1 in his first 2 years, and he had much more to work with than Hoke did.

Excuses, excuses. More often than not you can throw the records of both teams out the window for The Game. A loss is a loss, and your team has had a lot recently. Of course I would expect a fan of that team to say the tide is about to turn. Sure it will, but not anytime soon!

The current record/streak for Michigan is even worse than what John Cooper's was. Thats how bad it is.

But yea you did win that one time (barely) when Brax was a true freshman and OSU didn't have a true head coach. So you do have that.

Do yourself a favor and quit getting your hopes up. It hasn't turned out well for you over the last decade.

Worse you say?

From 1988 to 2000 (i.e. the Cooper years) Michigan was 10-2-1, since then Ohio State has been 10(11*)-2. So essential there is a tie difference. Seems to me that streaks are basically even.

So which brings us to the overall record of 58–45–6, still got some catching up to do there.

So when Michigan has a shamble of an O-line and hobbled Devin Gardner vs a team with Carlos Hyde and a healthy Braxton Miller you still game a 2-pt conversion away from losing, and yet you expect the same results with Michigan having a decent O-line, a healthy Gardner (*knock on wood*) and Ohio State without either Hyde nor Miller? :pound:

And who said anything about records? I stated there was a talent gap, which given the recruiting in the Rich Rod years, I dare you to say otherwise.

You must be real proud of all those W's from 1897-1918, just kidding. When the two schools started playing on a regular basis all the way back then it wasn't the rivalry game that it has been for so many decades now. The Buckeyes simply got kicked around. Just for a moment take away all those W's from that period & you might be surprised how close The Rivalry has been. Hell Ohio Stadium wasn't even around during those years.

I thought RichRod did a great job for your team:pound:! And don't give me that :bullshit:about a talent gap. Your team has NEVER had issues getting the nations top talent to play in ann arbor. You wanna put the blame somewhere fine but put it in the right place. RichRod was a shitty HC for your team & didn't utilize his talent correctly.

That talent gap was supposed to be caught up last year and it hasn't.

This past year you guys didn't even have a top 15 recruiting class.

I've been hearing that the tide is turning for 6 years and it has yet to happen nor does look like its even remotely close.

Right and Michigan was supposed to win in '01 and '04 when they were ranked much higher. Look at '07 when Ohio State replaced their QB, Top two running backs and top two WR from the year before and yet OSU still won.

Lets revert back to my original point in this thread. It doesn't matter what the situation is. Hurt players, new players, old players ect....

As it sits right now The chances of OSU beating Michigan are always going to be high.

Deal with it son.

It's pretty funny that this weasel fan thinks that just because a game was close the year before that it will actually make a difference the following year.

He must be some sort of toddler.
