I know some have speculated as much. But its interesting that he was given a $500k signing bonus and $250K of his base salary was guaranteed. He signed on a two year deal. Looks more like a guy they want to try and groom to take over when Hatcher and Bowen finally hang it up. At 6'8" 340lbs, if they can get any kind of push from this kid it should be fun to watch.

That was my initial thought until I saw the guaranteed money. You don't give $750K to a camp body. I guess they see something in him, but he has never done anything in this league. He's been with like 4 or 5 teams in his 6 years in the league. Not sure what the attraction is (other than he is just plain huge!).

Two things you cant coach.. Size and Speed. this kid has size. You can coach ability into some one. And he has the genetics for sure. Im actually looking forward to seeing if Haslett can get us something out of him, Baker and Jenkins this year. Im honestly expecting we wont improve too much in the yards given up department. But I expect Sacks and turnovers to go up for us this year.

If we can improve in those areas, an increase in turnovers is likely to follow. I expect we will do better against the pass this year.

the guy is depth . he might be tried in a rotational type manner . we need depth guys too
