I seriously do not want to jinx anything. I will simply say we are in pretty good shape at the moment.

I've given Terry Collins a large, and mostly unfair share of hate, negative remarks, as well as called him every bad name in the book these last few years......:heh:

but right now there's no one happier, or more proud for him than me.

He definitely deserves this moment..and to have his well earned spotlight on MLB's biggest stage.

Thanks, TC.
Good Luck in the WS.

:clap2:

The New York Mets are headed to their fifth World Series after sweeping the Chicago Cubs, a team that swept them in the regular season. The Elias Sports Bureau notes that no team had ever gone from being swept in the regular season to a postseason sweep of that same team.

But the Mets did it on the strength of starting pitching and Daniel Murphy, the National League Championship Series MVP who now has homered in a record six consecutive postseason games and has hit a franchise-record seven homers during these playoffs.

NEW YORK -- Although manager Terry Collins is in the final season of his guaranteed contract, there is little doubt the World Series-bound skipper is returning to the New York Mets' helm in 2016.

For how long will he remain?

A source close to Collins confirmed a CBS Sports report that he really is interested in leading the team for only a couple of more seasons.

At 66, Collins is the oldest manager in the majors. He has openly spoken in recent weeks about wanting to retire, take care of a lawn and relax at some point sooner than later.

The Mets and Collins have not yet started to negotiate a new contract.
Collins was only interested in speaking on Wednesday about reaching the World Series.

"There were some tremendous peaks and some big, deep valleys," he said after Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Chicago Cubs. "And to be able to keep those guys motivated and keep them level-headed through the whole season takes a lot of work. And my coaching staff, the veterans, did a tremendous job. And I just sat there and said, 'Wow, this might be the finest group of guys I've ever been around.'

Mets-Cubs scores big rating despite four-game NLCS

NEW YORK -- The NL Championship Series had its largest television audience since 2010 despite lasting just four games.

The New York Mets' sweep of the Chicago Cubs in a matchup of big-market teams averaged 7.9 million viewers on TBS. The network said Thursday that was the most since the six-game Giants-Phillies series five years ago on Fox.

The audience was up 55 percent from last year's four-game ALCS on TBS between the small-market Royals and Orioles.

KANSAS CITY (10/27)-- A panel of 13 National League managers selected the Mets’ Terry Collins as the league's manager of the year, the Sporting News announced Tuesday.

Collins received seven votes, with the Cardinals’ Mike Matheny getting five votes and the Cubs’ Joe Maddon getting one vote.

Collins managed his team to the postseason for the first time at age 66.

Paul Molitor of the Twins was voted the American League manager of the year.

The Mets snapped a string of six straight losing seasons, including four under Collins, by producing a 90-72 record during the regular season.

"I'm humbled by that, because there are some great managers in this league -- very, very good ones," Collins said about the honor before Game 1 of the World Series. "But I like to sit where I'm sitting. I like where I'm at -- not where some of those guys are. I'm thrilled by it."

The official Baseball Writers' Association of America awards for AL and NL Manager of the Year will be handed out after the World Series, along with the Cy Young, MVP and Rookie of the Year awards.

LONGBALL POWERING THE METS AT HOME....
The Mets had never hit two go-ahead HRs in the same World Series game, but two-run blasts from David Wright in the 1st inning, and Curtis Granderson in the 3rd put New York in front twice.
Granderson is the fifth Met to hit multiple HRs in a single World Series and the first since Mike Piazza in 2000.

All I can say fellow Mets' fans is, this has been a great season regardless of the world series outcome....and winning the NL pennant was a huge step for this team, moving forward.

Oh yeah.....Pitchers & Catchers report for Spring Training in about 100 days or so.

Have a great holiday season, everyone....and see y'all soon.

2015 was a great ride, really hoping they make the right moves and continue in 2015. I'm not sure what those moves are, who we should keep, who we can sign or trade for but I hope it wasn't a one and done year. Let's keep this going.
