NEW YORK (5/19)-- Bobby Parnell's minor league struggles continued Tuesday.

Parnell allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits in 1 1/3 innings in an extended spring training game in Florida on Tuesday.

Parnell, trying to return from Tommy John surgery, has experienced sagging velocity during his minor league games. He previously had made six appearances with Class A St. Lucie. He has allowed eight earned runs on 11 hits and six walks in 5 2/3 innings during those Florida State League appearances.

Vic Black also appeared in Tuesday's extended spring training game. Black inherited the bases loaded with nobody out, struck out two, then coaxed an inning-ending groundout.

Not really. Damn kid goes on all the death traps at local fairs. Plus its a good excuse to get out marching with her tball team in the cIty parade.

DW & Td'A are getting close to a return.....

PITTSBURGH -- David Wright and Travis d'Arnaud took steps toward returning from the disabled list Friday when both began taking batting practice at the New York Mets' complex in Port St. Lucie, manager Terry Collins said.

Collins added that Wright and d'Arnaud should be in minor league rehab games next week.

Wright has been on the DL since April 15. He initially landed there with a right hamstring strain. Lower-back pain then surfaced in recent weeks, stalling his return.

D'Arnaud suffered a fractured pinkie bone on his right hand when he was struck by a pitch from Miami Marlins right-hander A.J. Ramos on April 19. He shed a soft cast on May 11 and was cleared to resume swinging this week.

Mets third basemen have combined to hit .263 with just two homers and 15 RBIs through 43 games.

Asst. GM John Ricco said he expected Mets officials to speak after the weekend to see if another infield alignment might be best given Wright's setback.




We're either gonna have to facilitate a trade, or Move Flores to 3rd and bring up Matt Reynolds to play SS....imho

This team has a knack for doing the little things all wrong....and all the wrong things too often.

They try to circumvent their mishaps by putting band-aids on bullet wounds.

TC, the entire coaching staff, as well as the training & conditioning staff.....and the scouting crew, needs a serious overhaul and redo. Not to mention those "stellar" owners, and certain front office execs.

I'm becoming a bit livid with the organization of late.

Maybe a crazy idea because his D is not very good and he has been in a pretty big slump lately, but...

...Alex Guerrero? I'm not saying either Thor or Matz for him, but if he can be gotten for someone else?

I've been calling for Reynolds for awhile (Rosenthal must be reading my posts), and if we don't make a move, I don't see why not. Unless, of course, it's a money thing...but I haven't read anything about that, I don't think.

When the heck is Wright coming back? been hearing he's making progress for a month now

another week and a half to 2 weeks....

Had a feeling he would be out for the season the moment he tweeked his hammy in April. It's just standard stuff for Met's players
