Had to be a messy situation for him. First be the guy after the guy (never want to follow a legend) AND deal with the sanctions mess and now the NCAA waffling on what they will be? Cant say I blame him for leaving, between JoPa worshipers that remain and the soon to be effects of the sanctions coming (we know how that works) now is prob the best time to make the move if you ever wanty to be a HC in the NFL.

Like the article said, the timing may have a lot to do with it… plus, his desire to be an NFL HC.

If Hackenberg goes down with injury next season… as the article mentions… how attractive would he be following a 4-8 season.

Weird that the sportswriter would mention… QB issues… w/l records… and 4-8 seasons…

Yeah… doesn't sound like Coach O'Brien was too enamored with the PSU leadership. Very similar to WVU when Pastilong and Garrison were running the show.
