Despite playing on one leg and having his teammates marvel at his resolve to take shots to endure the pain of a suspected groin tear and hip labrum tear, the Vancouver Canucks bit his tongue when he could have leaned on a crutch of convenience following a bitter 4-0 loss to the Boston Bruins in Game 7 at Rogers Arena.

"I'm not going to sit here and complain about injuries," said Kesler, who had a game-high six shots but just one assist in the series despite 18 shots. "I gave it everything I had tonight and I'm proud of that. I can walk out saying that it didn't happen and it's emotional to talk about right now.

"For me and for a lot of guys in this room, we can hold our heads high."

I look at that and think, wow...Chris Bosh almost didn't play because he got POKED IN THE EYE. Not only that, if one of them did have a similar type injury, the entire world would know and if they even played a moment they'd be seen as the greatest postseason performer ever, and extremely brave. For NHLers? Just another day at the office.

Canucks aint my team obviously but if I was a canucks fan I would want Keslar with the C oh his jersey way before the Twin that has it now.

Keslar while hurting for sure was by far the best player last night and really went hard. Much respect

Do you think they revisit the captaincy after seeing the Higgins and kesler comments? Kesler showed all season he can keep a level head. However, would he stand in front of the media and answer all their postgame questions for 30 to 40 mins like HSedin does

that being said I think theres a chance ... i dont think its entirely out of the question

AV handled both Ballard and Luongo very poorly in the playoffs ... you got a GM who signed Luongo long term and acquired a long term contract in Ballard

to top it off you got a hot head owner who is telling reporters to fuck off in the dressing room
