I don't know if Eichorst is the right guy or not but I don't have a big problem with Eichorst being vague and quiet because that is just who he is. He is staying true to himself and his form. When he was hired here the local media wanted to do some stories on him to find out who he was and what kind of style he has and whatever. So they talked to the local media in Miami to see what they could find out. Everyone down there couldn't tell them anything because Eichorst didn't talk to them. Even through all the bullshit that Miami was going through he turned down requests to talk to the media. They all said he was very quiet and didn't talk. Now whether or not that is the way I or anyone else would handle these situations or not at least he is being consistent and to me that is a good thing.
I disagree. There are certain things that must be communicated at least within the program if not publicly.
The Ron Kellogg interview is a perfect example. Greg Sharpe "The Official Voice of The Huskers" ,the "Program Director / Husker Sports Marketing" or in other words the face of the program to the public is caught on an open mike speculating about a conversation hm and Pelini had after the final game of the season.
No one, absolutely no one knew, including Harvey Perlman what was going on in this program except for Shawn Eichorst. This speculation resulted in another embarrassment for the program. Hell I won't give Pelini an excuse but his behavior is a result of not being able to handle the uncertainty.
A program this size needs communication. If Shawn Eichorst is not going to do it he needs a communication officer that will be able to actually disburse information with in the program and publicly when appropriate.
