Sometimes you just cannot stop these types of HUNH spread offenses.
If Louisville, Cal, Texas Tech, or Ole Miss wants to drop 40+ on someone, they do it.
And they do it versus better teams than Texas.
Cal has scored 48, 55, 51, 40, and 50 in their last 5 games.
Texas doesn't have nearly as good enough defensive talent to even think about shutting them down.
They might need triple digits next week in Tempe.
That is what they do. It would be pretty arrogant to think fresh off a (5-7) season we would be the team to shut them down on their own home field.
I was more disappointed in the unforced offensive errors (the 2nd half penalties and stupid interceptions).
But, overall this team is clearly moving in the right direction. Settle the hell down.
Charlie Strong disagrees with you. He's put every defensive coach on notice. He has acknowledged Bedford's schemes are not putting our players in place to make plays. He has put Bedford on notice. He has gone on record telling his defensive coaches that the way their players play on the field is a reflection of their coaching. Enough with the excuses. Time to start holding people accountable. Strong has said he will be more involved in the defensive schemes and game planning now. This is what should have been done in the middle of last year.
