Definitely frustrating, but we all knew we weren't going to the playoffs this year anyway. We are definitely a better team today vs the last two years. California has a great offense. They are very effective at running that "spread" type offense. With that said, our defense still has a ways to go. Secondary is young, but they need to learn how to cover. Simple as that. Stay with their man. Way too much" pointing the finger." You learn coverage schemes, now do it! They looked totally lost and were way out of place too many times.

What I want to see now is win two out of three games against OU, TCU and Baylor. If that happens, the season will definitely be a huge success.

El Texan is right. Incompetent coaching has plagued this team for 2 years. I don't want to hear anymore bullshit excuses. Bedford should have been fired immediately last year after the Baylor game, PERIOD! Tired of his schemes & game planning. He is clueless when it comes to halftime adjustments. FUCKING CLUELESS! Players look confused & out of position all the time. He fielded the worst defense statistically in UT history last year; that alone was a fireable offense. I said before the season started that if Gilbert could turn the offense around, it wouldn't matter b/c Bedford was still the OC; I was right. Cal is the 8th or 9th best team in the Pac, btw.

Last week it was all "Strong's got this team going in the right direction!" (which is absolutely true) and today it's "fire everybody!"

Unless you're a Bama fan, NO ONE in college football has a right to expect greatness in any given season.

The jury is still out on Gilbert. I still remember the "Bryan Harsin hype" all too well. We'll see. Trust me, I hope he turns out to be all that and more, but I would have felt much better with Sonny Combie. He has big time college football experience. Playing games in the big conferences week after week just isn't the same as playing in the American Athletic Conference or what ever it's called this year.

Also, You have to remember the OL is much better which is a huge help. Two running backs with talent that have had an extra year on a college weight program, and the big one. A qb that looks like he can actually throw the football.....at least so far.
