Exactly how do you know all of this? Have you been to every practice this preseason? Are you close friends with Gruden or RG3? I seem to recall on a few series RG3 actually using secondary reads so at least to a small degree he does appear to read defenses. Please don't base everything on some preseason games.

Again - RG3 may very well fail, get benched or whatever. However - it is way too early to make conclusions on any of this, and all of us may be surprised by how certain players perform in the months ahead. Nothing like having reactionary fans who want to make a QB switch every time something goes remotely wrong. I can see it now - they bench RG3 - Cousins falls short & some of the same folks calling for RG3's head will want to reinsert him back into the lineup. Pretty amusing. Let's just let this play out a bit before going too crazy.

SoCal, I don't think any credible poster is calling for a switch today. We all know that RG3 is being asked to learn a new skill set and it will take time and there will be mistakes. But is is fairly clear that Cousins is more comfortable and effective running Gruden's offense right now. What I do find troubling are some of the more basic mistakes that Robert is making that has nothing to do with the offensive scheme. Like when to throw the ball away or when and how to protect himself. These are QB 101 errors that every HS QB is taught. I personally believe these type of errors are more indicative of Robert's stubbornness in believing that he can out run or out play anyone else on the field. In short, he needs a bit of an attitude adjustment and maybe some humbling. So any talk of a QB controversy might actually help Robert in both motivation as well as coming to the realization that the NFL is full of uber athletes that are as fast and athletic as he is. He needs to understand and accept that his role in this offense is not to make the big play, but to get the ball into the hands of the vast talent he has around him so they can make the big play.

Actually, Yes I have been at every practice and I KNOW everything. I take Snyder's private jet from Omaha to DC everyday.
Thanks for noticing.

Its going to be an ugly low scoring affair. We will come out of it still wondering if Bob is capable of becoming a pocket passer.

But whats going to do it for us is the defense. RG3 will have a passing TD, Morris will have 100+ yards rushing and maybe a rushing TD. The Kicker... who ever that ends up being, will have 3 FGs for a end score of something like 23-17 Washington win.

Do you still think the defense is going to do it for us if Merriweather is suspended?

Yep. I think we might not have a dominating secondary, but they will be better than last year. And i think early on our pass rush is going to be like a bunch of junk yard dogs. As much as every one says Griffin has alot to prove, this defense is going to be playing with a chip no matter who is in there.

BM makes us a hell of a lot better. Bulls eye on him however, he's never going to get the benefit of the doubt. Dudes a baller, hopefully he's not out too long:(. He's improved his technique, but still needs to refine his hits. Tuff, since the area of ok tackling seems to shrink yearly.

RG3 rushed 120 times total in 2012 . 61 of those attempts came via the read option PLAAAY . alfred morris carried 335 times of which another 100 were read option PLAAAAYS

that totals 161 total PLAYS not offenses

the skins ran a total of 961 plays that year

800 PLAYS were not read option or we ran about 7.7 plays to 1 read option PLAY
would it be too much to ask the yardage from this split? I'm lazy, you seemed to have the info, so i thought maybe.

I agree with others though, the threat of the read option definitely helped RG3 in 2012. in 2013, the games I saw, the defense didn't worry about it so it was tougher on him.

I'll give him more time before I make any comments about his inability to read a defense. He wants to be a drop back passer, so I'd think he has to know he has to improve on this stuff and I'll give him some time to figure it out.

i dont have a breakdown of yards . and i am not saying the threat of him running doesnt help . what i am saying is use him like kaep and wilson and stop forcing the pocket passer BS on him

yes i know he says he wants to become one but so did a multitude of athletic qbs , so what ?

and yes he is learning to read defenses and use check downs , he did that vs the ravens but people dont want to see that . he wasnt good vs the ravens i know that but i rewatched the game and he did some good things and some horrible things

we even ran a read option play
