I'm sorry, but this is really bad with all things considered.

I never thought I would feel bad for a triple-digit millionaire, but that was embarrasing.

Shoulda just stayed in Atlanta. Now with all this pressure to actually win, he's mediocre.

On a bad team, he's a bright spot. On a good team, he's a cancer.

How does he sleep at night?

I'm really pleased that this has its own thread.
was worried it might be lost in the GDT.

a) the $100 million man is not in the first three shooters?
b) and now we know why :L

Look at the description of Kovalchuk's shootout attempt in the espn box score.

"Shootout attempt by Ilya Kovalchuk MISSES wide of net (Backhand 14 ft)"

I guess it qualified as a backhand shot (in the wrong direction) from 14 feet away...lmao!

Buffalo Sabres vs. New Jersey Devils - Boxscore - November 10, 2010 - ESPN

Regardless, this is the kind of fiasco that should end up being number one on Sportcenter's "Not Top Ten."

Well it wasn't stopped was it?

I, like many others, just think its a bad fit. I am not sure Kovalchuk is a cancer (not that he is a great team guy) and I am far from sure that the Devils are a good team. I think they need a house cleaning both on the ice and in the front office.

But I am sure Lou will be fine.....

I probably could have done at least half as good as that shot. Does that mean I'm worth $50 million?

I can just imagine how nervous Enroth was until that happened.

I bet he laughed his ass off, and couldn't believe it?

LOL. Great stuff.

It made me go look up an old TSN top 10. I laugh at Dennis Wideman EVERY time.

Loved the goaltenders reaction. He didn't know what to think for a second there. Then he celebrates.

LOL, That's what I thought too. Enroth was like "Did we just win because of that!"

Those are all nice, but now make room for the king.

Remember guys, by the time the shootout rolls around, the ice is shit and the players are tired. Even though 99 out of a 100 attempts go fine, there's always going to be some pathetic looking screw ups. This time it just seemed to be karma induced.

What's just as disturbing at that feeble attempt is Kovy's lack of emotion after it happened. Most guy's would be pissed and slammed their stick or something.

Kovy was like "Oh well", come on dude the game was on the line and if the Devil's miss the playoffs by a point I hope Lou Lam reminds him of his lack of drive and emotion.
