not really. Ron Toigo owns the Vancouver Giants (WHL team) and White Spot restaurants, and his son Nolan played for the Giants and is now an Oilers prospect. Nolan got a tryout w/ the Canucks last year, but that didn't last long. that's about the only ones I know of.

Oberg and Tanev were both really strong on d from the parts of the game I saw.
Billy Sweatt's wheels are still turning heads (much like Etem on the other side), and Volpatti is hitting everything that moves. Basically the same guys got my attention as last game (Oberg in for Connauton, but performed just as well).

imho, we've got three prime defensive prospects right now. i can't remember that ever being the case.


btw... my internet crapped out juuust as the Nucks tied it up.

How did Fowler look tonight? I saw him a couple of months ago at the summer scrimmage and he looked either a little disinterested or soft, or both. He can move the puck and skate with it, but at times he doesn't seem all that interested in playing defense. Maybe he's one of those talents that turns it on when he feels like.
