...he's a pretty decent actor. He has a good delivery and emotes well as evidenced by his commercials. I have a feeling he's going to become one of the voices of football at the end of his announcing career.

A driver came making a stop at my warehouse said he heard that Manning was going to retire after this season. I have heard nothing but if it's true he will be missed, he was been great for football and a lot of fun to watch.

He doesn't need to. I don't think he necessarily wants a spotlight after he's done. He's already more than set.

Manning has said that he has a doctor's appointment in March to check up on his neck. If the doctor says the neck is still good then he will play if the doctor tells him that the neck is struggling then he will quit. So until March nobody has any clue what Manning is or isn't going to do.

He's no De Niro, but he's a pretty damn good QB.

Why would Patriots fan want Manning to retire? It's not like he's stood in the way of Patriots championships

Yeah, Patriots fans aren't the least bit threatened by Peyton Manning. Everyone can tell.

Well, the timing of a thread devoted to PFM's acting skills strikes me as suspicious.

I suspect that was what he was referring to and embellished the story a bit. Well anyway he has to do what is right for his future if that means leaving football I think fans would understand that.

LOL You might be at least somewhat culpable if that is in fact forthcoming.

No one really knows what Peyton is planning to do at this point. It has already been announce that he is going to undergo a physical in March to determine whether or not he will play next season. The word is, if he can he will.

There is no question that many think he could become an incredible coach in the NFL. It might possibly pan out that way. He is a good actor and incredibly funny. He is also set for life if he never plays another game or makes another commercial.

He may have told his wife or some close friends in confidence, but at this point no one has a clue about what he will do and when he will do it.

Winning the Super Bowl would certainly make an early retirement somewhat more appealing but coming back and smashing every career and season NFL QB record would hold allot of allure as well. Either way, he goes out alone on top.
