If Winston is done, who do you want to face Bama in the title game?

what you think was awful football was probably one of the best games of the last decade. talent all over the field, competitive, went to overtime, had to earn every inch.

i guess you would rather watch mismatches like florida/ohio state circa january 2007 or alabama/notre dame circa january 2013 instead? that's fine and all, but most of us like to see the best teams play, whether they are high powered offenses, stifling defenses, or both.

incidentally, the offenses of the 2011 alabama and lsu teams had quite a bit of NFL talent on them, but they just weren't as good as the historically good defenses.
It was a horrible game, screw ups all over the field.

Also, how would you program that into a computer? It's really difficult. Otherwise, they would be able to use injuries in the computer system.

It would pretty much take human intervention, or a program that did take injuries into account. But the problem is you really never know how good the backups are actually going to be, or how to rate that backup without human intervention.

the BCS title game is not about the 2 best conference champions playing each other for the title.

it is about the 2 best teams playing for the title.

do you think alabama was one of the two best teams? if not, let's discuss it. if you do, this argument is over.

IF this is true then an FSU without Winston likely shouldnt be playing for the title.

lol, no.

two outstanding teams going down to the wire. look at what the two teams did to every other team they played that year. absolutely destroyed them. if you don't think they were the two best teams, you're pretty much alone. or delusional and in stillwater, oklahoma.

What players do in the NFL does not mean dick in relevance to college.....plenty of good college players never do anything in the NFL.

NFL draft picks dont make an awful college game a great one. your logic is retarded.

True and it isn't. It SHOULD be about the two best teams that year, but it isn't always. We don't live in fairytale land where the two best teams are playing every yr. :laugh3:

Therefore, it ISN'T about the two best teams.

I guess according to Sakau, Michigan State has a terrible college basketball program because they only have 3 or 4 players in the NBA.

On the flipside Iowa has like the 8th best CFB program currently since we have the 8th most NFL players.... I like it!!! LOL

no, if they struggled through all of their games this season and didn't have any good wins (or of course lost a game), they'd have been passed by florida state by now. they are probably getting the benefit of the doubt because of last season, but no team has clearly overtaken them (which is why they are T-1st in the computers), so they remain at #1

But how did they become number one in the first place? Did god appear in the dreams of the coaches and ap members who vote and tell them to put Bama at #1? Or is it because they are returning a decent amount of players that won the NC last year and had won 3 out of the past 4 NCs? And now until Bama is beaten they'll stay there because it's been justified in previous years.

Face it, previous years matter to voters, and it factors into how they vote. It's absurd to believe that's not true.

Is Michigan State a better football program than Auburn because they have put out more draft picks, more first round draft picks, and won more national championships?

Link?

Im not sure they were. There were at least 2 other really good teams that could lay a legit claim to having been at least as good as both those teams. Im sure in your neck of the woods its probably considered that Bama and LSU were the 2 best but that doesnt mean its a given.
