So I hear Michigan contacted the representatives for Jay Gruden about being their coach, if Jay Gruden leaves then I will gladly take Jim Harbaugh and or Todd Bowles

I see Harbaugh going to Michigan. I'd take Bowles as our DC in a heartbeat, but not as a HC.....yet. He needs more seasoning. Gruden will be back next year, although it may be his last year here.

I agree Gruden will be back next year but there is no way Haz survives. McVay is on the hot seat too.

If Gruden leaves or is fired.... there are not many people on the planet that would come after this job. Not the types of coaches we would want in any case.

But if he does leave or gets fired then maybe just maybe we should try a defensive coach instead of always getting a offensive coach..we have had what like two defensive coaches Richie Petitbon and Marty Schottenhiemer, maybe we should take a different approach and try Vic Fangio (49ers defensive coordinator) or Todd Bowles ( Arizona defensive coordinator)

A defensive coach would make his first order of business finding a game manager QB that doesnt sell jerseys or excite the owner. Remember who Marty brought in as his starter. We had a shot at one of the best defensive coaches in the league, screw shot he was already on the payroll and had been told the job WOULD be his. Instead we fired him and hired Zorn. We have an owner and a culture that would rather look sexy and lose, than look ugly and win.

I tend to agree Shark. Defensive coaches tend to be a little nastier...I think we need a little nasty.

How can so many people overlook the next obvious move? Let's assume that all of your reasons for the departure of Gruden is correct, then it is correct that bringing in a defensive minded HC is not sellable. Further, no worthy HC candidate would come here. So let's look at history.....creditable HC's have come and gone, leaving the team to create a HC'ing candidate in the interim (Zorn). It appears true that the organization is at that point again, and must look either outside or within for another unqualified candidate. They already have their man.....his name sadly, is Sean McVay. (Jim Zorn 2.0)

Either him or Haslett. Who else would take the job?

your hitting the pipe if you think Briles is leaving Waco to come to this insane asylum. He is a god at Baylor.

And Spurrior was a GOD in north Florida. Kelly was a Buddha (yes thats a semi-fat joke) in Oregon. I'm not saying Briles would take the job for sure. But no one sells it like Danny does, and we all know this. And if Gruden has truly given up on Griffin, but Danny hasnt, there are only two people who could possibly think they could fix Griffin, or work around his flaws. Art Briles, or Terry Shae. And Shae is NOT a qualified HC. But I could see Danny making a devils deal with Briles and Briles bring in Shae to stroke Griffins EGO back into shape. Then the question would be who comes in as DC??

Valid points, but Dan's track record is such that I don't see anyone buying his fools gold anymore. Of course $20M for a years worth of hell might be worth it for some.

Never forget that a pre req for Head coach in the NFL is a GOD complex and the belief that you can win with any one. Briles took over a Baylor program that was considered a joke in College football. Its got to gnaw at him to see his golden boy being crucified in the media. You know some where deep down his ego says... I could fix that. I can fix him, and in the NFL I would truly BE

That all sounds great. However, what if his golden boy wasn't such a golden boy while there? It wouldn't surprise me if the RG3 and his crew weren't a pain in Briles ass quite a bit. I bet he Dad was on the phone or in the coaches office quite often. From what we've learned of Robert, I bet he was quite a diva at Baylor.
