I hear ya I hear ya......

I still think most people believe that if we have any kind of success on Defense this year we will just walk through our schedule.

I tend to believe that the turnovers are more of a problem than are the Defensive problems. The pick 6's last year put us behind the 8 ball big time.....yet folks just point to the missed tackles.

Shit, the way I see it Ohio State scored about 35 of their 63 points last year off of shit that didn't directly relate to our Defensive issues.

There's plenty of blame for all three facets of the game. Don't forget about all the muffed punts throughout the rest of the season. Then there's the horrid rushing defense.

It's just a poorly coached team that wins 9 games in spite of itself.

Although Pelini and Neuheisal are 2 different people, their teams play remarkably similar regarding discipline. One could even compare Pelini to Pinkle.

Yeah, Pinkle's kind of a stretch but he did hammer Pelini in 08'.

Missouri only appeared good when Nebraska, Kansas State, and Colorado were on their collective asses.

I hope the first play of the season is a turnover. The joy of watching Husker "Fans" implode would be so worth it.

Um...134 of Braxton Miller's 186 rushing yards were BEFORE he even got touched!!!!! That is a big time defensive issue!!!!!

No offense sir, but........it is really bad when we blow every team in the country out of the water in turnover margin 3 years in a row. It truly is something that the fans should be upset about.

I don't disagree with you at all about the TO's. The penalties are another HUGE issue, that has been getting better but now the issue with those are that they come in bunches. I am just saying that although quick TO's can hamper the D, they are having some major malfunctions on their own merit. Especially in big games.

Meh......

They had 498 total yards in the game........we had 437....

Game should have been a damn shoot out. The final score should have been somewhere in the 30's. Braxton Miller ran on every team they played.......that part of the game didn't even piss me off.

Trust me, no doubt in my mind do I see issues on the Defensive side of the ball. The Wisconsin game was probably the most pathetic game I've ever seen in the history of Nebraska Football. You can throw every game Callahan ever coached in there too........they weren't as bad as the Championship game last season.

I just personally believe that if the Offense and Special Teams don't turn the ball over once every 3 times they touch it, the Defense probably has a little more wind in their sail.

Miller rushed for under 60 yards against Purdue, Wisconsin, and Michigan. He also ran for under 100 against Cal, UAB, and Illinois. The Nebraska game was by far his best rushing game.

True.

I admit.......our front 7 was as sorry as a poop flavored popsicle.

It's amazing to think about how we were ahead 17-7 in that game with 11 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter.......

And we trailed 24-35 at the half.

Oh Joy.... Tom is going to go on a rant and say other people aren't real "fans" because they don't wake in the morning with sunshine rolling out their mouths and rainbows pouring out their ass....

Anybody who watches Nebraska knows turnovers more importantly turnover margin have been a major issue..

Geesh, the stench of Dakota City must be fogging your brain and making you cranky.

My wife wouldn't call what rolls out of my ass in the morning a rainbow..... but I'll use this as evidence. THANKS!

Yes it is. But many would be ready to forfeit the season if it happened on the first play this year. If only for a few plays afterwards. The rage would be extremely hilarious to me.

I agree that was one of Nebraska darkest hour

I don't understand how wisky tees off on us but can't score shit against Stanford

Or how we lose big there but almost beat ugA

Just a horrible massacre that made me question if bo lost the team. Wisky ran a high school offense and made us look silly

It's pretty simple really.

It's pre-game prep, in-game management, and basic player fundamentals. i.e...Coaching.

UCLA - First year coach taking over a 2011 (6-8) team beat Nebraska on a neutral field.
Wisconsin - NU trailed at home 27-10 at halftime to a team that ended it's regular season (7-5).
Ohio St - First year coach taking over a 2011 (6-7) team puts 63 on NU's defense.
Northwestern - NU trailed 27-10 in 2nd half.
Michigan St - NU trailed a (7-6) team 24-14 in the 4th Q.
Penn St - NU trailed at home 20-6 at halftime. Penn St first year head coach.
Iowa - NU trailed 7-3 at halftime. Iowa finished (4-8)
Georgia - Georgia scored the final 22 points in the final 22 minutes.

Nebraska was extremely lucky to have won 10 games last season. Actually lucky to have won 9.

I don't understand how folks can expect a complete turn-around just because Ohio St and Wisconsin are not on the schedule. They went (1-1) with them in 2011/2012 so at best NU picks up one extra win.
However, Northwestern, Mich St, Penn St, and Iowa were difficult games that were coin flips and can't be taken for granted this year.
Not to mention Nebraska plays at Michigan.

Here you go.......this is what I'm talking about....

In Bo's 68 games he has coached at Nebraska, he posts a 35-2 record when Nebraska's turnover margin is positive or at least even.

His team is 13-18 when negative in turnover margin.

Football is kind of a funny sport.......it isn't always the most obvious statistic that points to a loss. Failure in one area on one side of the ball can lead to failure on the other side of the ball and it may not always be easily recognizable....

Ultimately, it may lead to failure for the entire team.

I mean, I'll just be straight up honest with you all......

I believe if Taylor takes care of the ball we probably don't lose a game this season.

As much as I love all of the good that he does, he does lead the nation in turnovers over the past 3 seasons............and as a team, Nebraska loses more games in relation to turnover margin than any other team in the country over the past 3 years.......

This is no weird coincidence. This is just football.
