... stay on this path of losing and not really being competitive in some games, when do they decide to see what they have in Jordan Love? Say for example, the Packers are 4-8 and out of the playoff picture, wouldn't they need to bench AR to let J Love play the rest of the year so they can see if he can be the guy moving forward or not? Going to be a sensitive topic down the stretch for the Packers if they can't turn it around...

You think a team that has catered to Aaron Rodgers to appease him so he wont leave them will bench him? If they do, it signals they expect him to be gone in 2023

Be the guy moving forward? They just gave Rodgers a huge new deal that has like a $90M+ cap hit next year if cut or traded.

Completely out of question.
it's very possible he retires this off-season

They can just tell Rodgers that they are playing Love in order to generate trade interest in the offseason. It would actually be true. Maybe the Packers FO can actually flip him into what they should have drafted when his spot in the draft came up: a WR.

It makes me irrationally angry that the Packers may only have 2 wins left on their schedule...and one of them is going to be us.

Goddamnit.

I wouldn’t count on the Packers winning games at this point.

If you guys suck out AND while doing so lose to the Bears...It's going to be a sh*tfest of epic proportions. I personally would like to experience it. But Bears fans are not allowed such niceties.

If he retires it's a 44M cap hit

i think they can designate it post june and split it over 2 years if GB wants, could be wrong

But yes, GB is in a bind with Rodgers contract regardless

He turns 39 this year, he's got some good football left in him, but father time is undefeated and this down turn isn't JUST his lack of WR's

With the way things are going it seems like he could be gone either way.

Regardless if they are eliminated from a playoff spot with any amount of games left, they really should let Love play

No chance they do that after he got that mega contract.

Yes they can designate it post june spreading the hit over 2 years.

If they simply release him it's a 99.7M pre-june hit or a 75.3/24.4M 2023/24 cap hit

Ain't no way he's getting released

I don’t see them going to love any time soon. But by the same token I do t see Rodgers turning it around. But with all the money they got invested in Rodgers I wouldn’t move onto love either if I was Green Bay
