Rodgers filing retirement papers before the new NFL year would be spiteful and childish on his part. Hard to imagine he'd deliberately hurt the franchise and fans that much when he wouldn't benefit from it at all. If he wants to retire then let everyone know but allow the franchise to delay post 2023 cap hits until the 2024 season.

What's funny is Denver fans were really hoping to get Rodgers this past offseason but they got Wilson instead and were justifiably excited even after paying a ransom in draft picks and cap dollars for him.

My bro-n-law said the reason Hackett was hired as HC is the Broncos thought they had a legit shot at Rodgers. Wilson was actually the teams second choice.
