Not that the Devils deserve to be in it but they're 3 points behind Montreal with 3 games in hand so they get screwed that way.

On top of that they have Arizona's first. AZ were out of the playoffs and going nowhere fast. Now we run the risk of them making noise in the playoffs? It is what it is unfortunately.

the top 4 teams in each conference would play each other in a warm-up round robin.
maybe seeding up for grabs, but just a chance to stretch their legs. so a big jump to playoff energy.

100% no way a Cdn city is selected as the hub that ends up hosting the finals because it could possibly demand 14 day quarantine periods for a finalist team crossing over and travelling to the city. Ready for a 14 day break to decide the cup ??? lol
