I hear rumblings of team boards around here every once in awhile. I hope we grow big enough that they will all be utilized. But until then, instead of cluttering up the place too much, what about starting with division/conference boards?

One example might be, not to pick on Q or anything. But if there was a Bhawk board, there would have to be some hardcore recruiting going on. A Central division board could help out in the meantime. Most of us Keep tabs on our division rivals closer than any other teams. Hell, Chicago is only 5 hours away from me and closer than Detroit!

This is just a thought i had, sorry if it's been brought up before. Wondering what you guys think?

I think team boards might make it easier to recruit. I know there's a lot of Bruins fans back at the swamp who only post on the team board. I post on the general board, (that's how I met all you cool people), so it makes no difference to me.

edit: how about divisional boards?

not a bad idea.
on the old board, the lone Flames fan tended to spend more time on the Canucks board anyways. :D

we can invite that piece of shit ShawnRocker ... his posts are shit but at the least he will create enough multiple usernames so he can chat/agree with himself that the canucks team board would have the most members

did you know he emails the team1040 using the name "Jack in the Carribbean"

I don't see the point in team boards. Half the teams in the league don't even have any fans that post on here. I guess if you wanted to do a few for the teams that have more than a few fans here then that probably wouldn't cause much harm. Otherwise, it'll just be a bunch of empty forums.

i mean...i never posted on team boards because i'll get the same opinion. i post on general because of the diversity. and it's more fun. i probably still wouldn't post in divisional/conference if they came. JMO.

As far as I'm concerned the NHL general board is just 1 big team board.....they ar all NHL teams...why not just post in 1 place for everyone to see....

It would make sense when the number of posters picks up. Otherwise why create boards or forums that in all likelihood would have few posters with the exception of a few teams. So I will throw it back to the posters and say go out and recruit some good posters and it may happen. I have been working on it.

Many here have recruited some very good posters and as we all know word of mouth is the best advertising.

I was never big on individulal team boards. You get too many people who are only fans of their own team instead of Hockey itself.

Good point IPW. Maybe that's why the Sabres board at the other place is so slow but if you look at the TV hockey ratings Buffalo is always near the top.
