At least the Marlins will have something to celebrate this year. Too bad he couldn't get this with the Mariners.

Guess the Mariners have too much interest in trying to win this season...Ichiro's OBP was .282 last season and he slugged .279, OPS+ of 56. I think Eddie Gaedel could have slugged higher than that if Happy Chandler hadn't had an extreme fear of midgets.
I mean, I get why the Marlins picked him up, but giving this guy ABs basically says you don't care if you win.

He doesn't have 4,000 MLB hits, that's what matters. What he did in Japan is irrelevant. We aren't adding USFL stats to NFL players' resume.
