wow im impressed! hopefully this all works out for the best says he is a hockey fan so hopefully he isnt in this to turn a quick buck. i could see them throwing a wendys stand in the rock and getting rid of that stupid cigar stand

I really like JVB. I spoke with him at this years draft party for a minute, and he really loves this team and wants it to succeed. Maybe these two can work a deal similar to the first one, but with both owners actually wanting to be owners.

However, I'm no longer convinced that JVB being in charge gives us the best chance to sign Zach. Apparently the new guy was rumored to be interested in buying the islanders so this has been on his mind for a while. Fingers crossed. Even if JVB can restructure teh dept he still doesn't have the assets to keep an investment the size of the rock afloat by himself.

LOL, they could do free chili for scoring 7 goals like they used to do here in Pittsburgh back in the day. From reading that link, would love to see him get the team. Sounds like a fan type owner with deep pockets.

I agree i dont think Beek has the pockets deep enough anymore to keep taking these losses. He should be proud though helped keep the devils here for the long haul

Beek has been a great fan owner. He got us pru, and as much as some of may bitch about having a guy like Kovy is an asset both from a fan perspective and on the ice.
That said, he either needs help, or flat out to move on. it would be pretty easy to make the argument that he's served his purpose. Peltz would bring this ship to a whole new level

I also do believe if this move happens. Lou retires.....something I fully support...just like was said with the devils coaches time to clean house and have a fresh start for the next generation

I have no problem with Lou right now. But his end is undoubtedly coming soon. A big factor in it is who is his replacement?

That's the type if position I could maybe see Stevens in... I don't ever see him as a true coach
