If Fisher convinced The Jags that JB is a liability because of his behavior and traded a 1st round pick for him, I would be ecstatic. This man will be great if he stays out of trouble and stays healthy... My gosh

You know Fisher would love to have him too. That said, I think our WR corp will do okay, they just need to grow and the OL needs to give Sam some more pocket time. (They can do that better, just be running the ball!).

The more I look at the big picture, I think we may look at safety with our 1st rounder, maybe Ha'sean Clinton-Dix if not maybe 2nd or 3rd round Jimmie Ward.

Save the first rounder man! Our WR's just need more time in routes and more targets to get better.

If you think Blackmon is good, watch Sammy Wadkins from Clemson.

He's faster, a little lighter than Blackmon but still good size. DeAndre Hopkins was the #2 WR last year for Clemson.

Sammy W is lightning in a bottle people.

First rounders, OT and S. We need to get the best OT we can get for RT or LT, doesn't matter and even when McDonald comes back the best ball hawk S for the next 1st rounder. Next 2 need to be RB and QB. Just my opinion of course.

I'll take Jake Matthews and Wadkins in the first round for $200, Alex. Washington is tanking and we are going to have a pretty high pick. Washington looks completely out of sync. I see that pick going between 2-10 in the first.

Blackmon is a traffic ticket away from a year long suspension. As tempting his talent is, he's a tough risk to take. While the new FO's stance on troubled players is refreshing after the four pillars crap, there are limits.

The Rams had their chance to get him and let him get away. Blackmon will always be remembered as a " what could have been" .

My thought would be OT (Matthews, Lewan, or Kouandjio) and Dix (S, Alabama) in the first. OG (need a real road-grader (or two)) and a CB in the 2nd/3rd. Maybe Sean Mannion or Braxton Miller in the 4th?

Most of the mocks I have looked at (yes I know.. VERY early) have the Skins pick at around #6 and the Rams pick between 10-13. I think if it pans out that way, you could very easily see 2 more Bama guys join the Rams in Cyrus Kouandjio and Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix. Obviously, if Matthews or Lewan are still there with the highest pick they are rated higher than Cyrus, but Cyrus is a BEAST as well. and if for some reason Clinton-Dix is gone with the lower pick, you could go OLB with CJ Mosley or Kyle Van Noy, WR with Watkins, Brandon Coleman or Mike Evans or you could even trade down, get say another 3rd rounder and still get a CB like Louchiez Purifoy or an OLB like Khalil Mack or Vic Beasley.

ALOT of safeties out there very close to each other. Let's see who separates themselves. This is kid Huff from Wyoming is a sleeper I can tell you that.

Saefty might be a deep class this year, but no one has really came out and been dominant.

SOOOOOOO no need to reach on one. If you know you can get a special WR, or O-lineman, or CB/LB then you take them and get the good/average picks with upside.

And back to Tavon, sure he lit it up in college. Spread offenses, Big 12 defenses, etc.

Welcome to the NFL. Where power and speed rule. But to take a top 10 draft pick and he has no business on the field in a close game on 1st down??!!

Might as well call him Az Hakim.

Only reason he's not on the field on 1st down is that the Rams haven't figured out how to run the ball without extra blockers. They could just as easily (in theory, although they haven't really tried it) spread out the defense with 4 wides (or 3 + Cook/Kendrick) and run through the gaps. Ball control and safe play worked this weekend though.

Should've already had him but the Rams didn't want to trade up one spot to ensure they got him.

Btw, I know the Rams will need a RT with Saffold gone this offseason, but do they need to draft a Matthews, Lewan, etc that high to address the position? Seems a bit extreme to me because there is no way Long is moving to the right side and he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

I also think they may trade down again with their 2nd 1st rounder like they did this past draft. Get an extra 3rd or future 2nd out of it.

Or, maybe they will get lucky that the Skins pick is high enough to trade it to a QB needy team and score that way. Although the draft may be deep at QB, undoubtedly, 2-3 will seperate themselves from the rest of the pack and a team may be willing to trade up to ensure they get their guy.

Hey, I can dream can't I?

I see Snead and Fisher taking Matthews over Lewan, or Kouandjio because of family ties and he played with a Matthews relative. This is one of the reasons Fisher took T.J. McDonald and as it turned out, the family ties factor actually a beast hitter at Safety who unfortunately got hurt. I'll be have happy with Matthews or Kouandijo along with Wadkins in the first.

No way the Rams end up with both Retro.

Both of those guys will probably go in the top 10. Unless the Rams choke the rest of the season, they will not have 2 top 10 picks ( and that's assuming the Skins pick is top 10 ).

Also, do the Rams really need to take a RT in the top 10? Because there is no way Long is moving to the right side and he's not going anywhere any time soon. I know that Saffold will be gone, but the Rams may actually have his replacement already on the roster.

That seems like an extreme pick to me. Also, Atlanta may take Watkins to replace White who is on the downside of his career.

SJ, I agree with most things you say about Sammie, but there's a ton of teams that would have loved to have Az Hakim back in the day, he was a pretty damn good number 3 WR and whether you agree or not, he was a part of the Greatest Show on Turf. He did help us get back to respectability and the Super Bowl

Yea AngeLakeRams. If the Rams want a future HOFer at RT, it would behoove them to take Matthews for a lot of reasons I already elluded to in the first post. Whether they get both Matthews and Wadkins remains to be witnessed.

If you are referring to Barksdale. The jury is still out on him even though his play is pretty solid and getting better. They could probably get Kouandjio in the latter part of the first round and that may indeed be the better fit. Like I said, I'll take either Matthews or Kouandjio at this point along with Wadkins.
