I love Tim Miles

I love that Tim Miles has a sense of humor. His half time tweet from last night:

"..It's Lincoln's birthday and we can't let him down."

He also credited his scouts last night. Said they always do a good job.

And in his post game with the BTN reporter on the court last night, the reporter said somthing about it being a good win and Miles smiled and replied something to the effect of 'They just keep rolling in don't they, brother?'.

I think Miles really likes what he can do with this team.

The fact is when you have a guy like Petteway, teams are going to focus on taking him out of the game. Someone else needs to be the guy to step up and be the threat. Shields did that last night.
I thought Gallegos would be the one expected to be that guy, but apparently not. Maybe his big game go to guy a la the 2012/2013 season is yet to come? We know he can drain 20+, he's done it 6 times before. Heck, he had to.

Petteway and Shields are 1 and 2 in the Big 10 for most points scored in a game.

I seriously believe that Gallegos has lost that feeling of confidence.

I remember playing basketball at both High School and College levels and when you know you're the best scoring threat on the floor it is much easier to take over and pull the trigger.

I think Gallegos (who is by nature a shy guy) sees these young studs taking over and scoring in ways that he can't and he's timid out there. To be a scorer you gotta be aggressive....you gotta create your scoring opportunities. He just doesn't do it anymore.

It just seems to me that he has accepted his role on the team as the guy who needs to shoot if he's open.

He missed two wide open 3's from the corner last night. There was nobody within 8 ft of him. I thought they were gone for sure. Last season he drained that shot like clockwork. Yeah, he lost something somewhere.

When you have no confidence, the hardest shots to make are always the easiest shots you take.

In other words, being wide open suddenly feels like there is a 10 foot wall right in your face.

Well and on top of that the 3s he missed last night was in and then they rattled out.... has to be a kick in the dick for him. You dont want to go cold when your team is playing as hot as sheilds was last night. Benny Parker on D is really fun to watch

I remember last year Ray played realllll good while he was dating one of my high school classmates

They broke up fer a week and he did realllllll bad that week, then good again when they were back together

I dont believe they are currently dating. We need to fix this

I think Gallegos has been more of a decoy this season based upon his being the go to guy last season.

He doesn't get as many chances as he used to and it keeps him cold. It still wouldn't surprise me to see him go off for 20+ once again at some point.

With Petteway and Shields now firmly on the radar, there will be some opponents heads spinning. That's when Gallegos can get back to having a monster game.

Gallegos is a great defender, which is why I want him on the floor.

The fact that he can make 3's is an added bonus. What he does on Defense is very important though.

Shields brought the inside game Nebraska's been missing. He had some beautiful drives to the bucket last night without the turnovers we've gotten accustomed to.

I love you this guy. If you listened to his post game you can hear how fun and energetic he is. Yet he got quiet and went to library voice out of respect for Indiana acknowledging their seniors after the game. Respect. I love Tim Miles
