Very impressed with AD's development. Much better technique and much better execution as the year has gone on. He's got a bit of a mean streak too which I'm also digging.
I was afraid Anthony Davis was gonna be another Kwame Harris, but I'm not really worried about him any more. He's been steadily improving over the season.
it's staley that has me worried. although davis still has issues with speed rushers
Davis has been getting better and Staley seems to have at least stopped regressing. The O Line is above average as a whole and that is far better than we used to have so I'll take it.
This Giants team is similar to DET in their ability to get to the QB, but not so similar in that they have more speed and less strength. This simple fact worries the hell out of me because of our OL's history with not being able to contain speed rushers consistently. This is a question not a smart ass comment....have we played a team this year that a) possessed similar pass rushing skillsets that the Giants do and b) was our OL able to handle them? I cannot think of anyone but the Lions....
Optimists will see this as the start of something good
For the first time since the first two games of his NFL career Anthony Davis (+1.5) has graded positively for consecutive performances as a pass protector. For the first time ever in his career Davis has graded positively overall in consecutive games. Now the Browns and the Redskins may not have the most fearsome pass rushes in the league, but this still can be seen as a measure of progress for Davis who has done nothing of any consequence on a consistent basis to this point in his NFL career. Davis was perfect in pass protection this week, as Ryan Kerrigan got his pressure against Adam Snyder and because Alex Smith held the ball too long. Two games are just two games, but for a first round pick who has produced so little to this point for the 49ers this is a modicum of progress and they must hope a sign of things to come.
Better than the alternative!
Been noticeably better this year for how bad he played last year. Dude's still very young and developing.
I noticed he was given help last game, and that's what he desperately needed last year. We were sending out two man routes with max protection on a handful of plays because of Orakpo and Kerrigan. Expect some more of that vs. the Giants.
