Yeah congrats Sabres fans! Dammit I almost want the bruins to lose today so that we don't run the risk of matching up against the Sabres in the first round. They have had our number all season long and even if we win the series it's going to go the distance and players on both sides are not going to be feeling great afterwards.

Last night's game showed that they can't handle the pressure of a big game, and they are still way too inconsistent to even think they can take on the top teams in the East in a 7 game series and win.

I really don't see how people are saying that they have "locked" up a PO spot already, or have over a 90% chance of making the PO's? The Canes are only 3 points behind now, and have the same amount of games left as the Sabres, 6.

If the Sabres lose tonight and the Canes win, I would have to think that the game on April 3rd is going to decide which team takes the 8th spot. I hope the Sabres beat the Rangers tonight, but I really don't think they are going to. I can only hope that the Canes lose to the Habs tonight and the Sabres manage to beat them on April 3rd to really have a shot at making the PO's.

It's looking like the 1 point the Sabres pissed away against the Preds is really starting to bite them in the ass right now.

I know Boss says to stay positive, but it's kind of hard to do when you have a team with a history of failure, shortcomings, and early exits.

Oh well, here's to next year. :L

Being a pessimist is never a good thing I guess.

See post 17, That's why I try and stay positive. Yes we have a tradition of failure but antisipating it before it happens is not a good thing. I have done it myself.

It's like being diagnosed with cancer and running to the cemetery before even giving life a chance. Like Jimmy said "Never give up". Fighters fight, losers anticipate the worse.

As Yogi said, "it aint over till it's over".

Keep the faith brother.

And to be fair, I did say the game on April 3rd against the Canes would determine if they made the PO's or not, and it's not like anyone was 100% sure that the Sabres were going to win that game in OT. Sabres had a bit of luck on their side on that one.

I think it was a little more than luck Sabres Definately deserve to be there.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Jhonas Enroth stopped every clean shot the Carolina Hurricanes threw his way. A fluky shot somehow got past his Carolina counterpart, and that bit of good fortune put the Buffalo Sabres in pretty good shape for the playoffs.

AKA a bit of luck

Gragnani's winner came when he fired a wrist shot from the boards that appeared to ricochet off the sticks of two Carolina skaters and past goalie Cam Ward, who also was pestered by Stafford near the net.

"It appeared to be going wide, and it got deflected off of something," Ward said. "I'm not sure what it hit, but they got a lucky break."

Gragnani said it was "a lucky break on the goal, but we'll take it."

BOOM!

Even when it appears that I don't know what I'm doing, I always know what I'm doing!

Remember that :D

Besides, I have a prediction from before the season started that I am just itching to bump when the time is right.

But seriously, could you imagine where the Sabres would be right now if they did lose that game to Carolina in OT on April 3rd?

Sabres would be at 93 points, and the Canes would be at 92. They would pass the Sabres and knock the Rags out of the PO's if they won their last game of the Season.

Now you just think about that.
