I dont think they anticipated clearly Thompson being there in the late 3rd. That's why I believe they took him. Had him rated too high to pass.

Has to be what it is, Peko will cost considerably more than Sims. But, has to be it, and of course Anderson was a one year gap filler.

Just makes me frown knowing this years team is oversaturated at one position, while other positions go unattended and cause issues during the season.

Typically to add more rush to the line, the sub a DE/DT tweener in at DT along with your pass rushing DT (Atkins) to push the QB. They hardly EVER put 3 DT's and 1 DE on the field even in running situations, because you need someone agile enough to hold t he outside corner incase it is a run to the left or right. Typically 3 DT's are a bad case of that, unless they plan on going with a lot more 3-4 defensive stands and plan on using 3 DT's on the line to hold the offensive line out of the way of the LB's. Which would make a lot more sense having thaty many DT's then, but I thought Marvin and Zim loved the 4-3 defense.

Our LB's suck too much to do any kind of 3-4 really.

I think when we see how athletic and strong Thompson and Still are people will be happy. Who knows, maybe lamarr miller will be there in the 4th. We all clearly had him overrated. They're getting good players and building the roster. This is how good teams are built. Not by pigeonholing yourself into drafting X position. Draft BPA unless you're totally stacked...if it fits a need all the better.

Which now means no point in drafting LB either, as Skuta and Rey are our special teams guys, and decent backups who we know we will not have to pay much money.

You can't think that in the first 3 rounds of teh draft. You have to believe you are taking the best guy you can who can contribute, not take two guys at an area of strength (same position) anticipating 1 is going to bust out.

I mean something wrong with an existing player.
