Ryan Howard batting cleanup is hurting the Phillies. having no one capable of batting cleanup is sad.
I think it is about time to bat Ruf 4th and give him some regular playing time. He can rise to the occasion in my opinion. Management should not be afraid of hurting somebodies feelings. Move Howard to 7th and move Utley to 6th. Asche should be hitting 3rd and that's how I see it. The Phillies will score more runs with a shakeup in the lineup! Amaro wants to keep playing Howard on a regular basis no matter what, but he says it is Rynos decision Really! Since when?

I agree. Shake up the lineup and get Ruf in there. He should be starting tonite. At least they moved Galvis to 2nd and demoted poor hitting Revere to 8th.

When you have the worst cleanup hitter in the history of any major league baseball team (Yes, that's what the stats said) it doesn't really matter what you do around him. He is an embarrassment, he is sickening to watch and, despite his hitting earlier in his career and his part in winning us a championship, he still has earned every boo he's gotten. Which is sad. Amaro is mostly at fault, but Howard obviously isn't doing much, besides counting his millions, because his swing stays the same awful swing everytime he goes up there.

If I Had enough influence I would play Ruf ever day and bat him cleanup. Until this season started, Ruf averaged a home run in every 17 at bats. Based on a full season of 600 at bats that translates into 36 homeruns. Leave Howard in the 7 hole when he plays and use Dom Brown off the bench while shipping Sizemore or Francouer to the minors. Ruf is actually a better fielder than Dom Brown. Brown is rated as the worst fielding starting outfielder in the majors. He looks lost on most fly balls unless they are hit right to him. Dropping Howard to the 8 hole should embarrass him into performing. May my powers to be work on Ruf playing everyday and batting cleanup!
