Why would they fire him? With a new 12 team playoff, PSU is likely to be in the playoffs most years going forward (if he continues winning at least 10 regular season games most years).

Now, with the new Pac 12 teams coming next year if he starts losing an extra game here or there and misses the playoffs, then I could see them jumping ship. Right now, he has them groomed for a playoff spot in the future 12 team playoff system. You don't want to stop that train right now in my opinion.

I applied for the job yesterday. Told them I'd work the first year for $52,000 and negotiate a five year deal after making the playioffs next year,

No response yet.

Only have 44 years experience Pop Warner thru High School.

Hadn’t considered this. Yeah, he’d be making the playoff more often than not, so it’s tough to give him his walking papers…

He's only won 11 games 4 times in his tenure

2014 7-6
2015 7-6
2016 11-3
2017 11-2
2018 9-4
2019 11-2
2020 4-5
2021 11-6
2022 11-2

Now his record getting better but still can't win the bigs

Lost 4 bowl games, won 4 bowl games and declined 1
*11 wins 5 times. In 9 years. 8 if you discount the covid year when it wasn't possible to win 11. How good do you have to be?

Penn State currently has the #2 defense in the country. mich. college hasn't seen this level yet.

The Penn State Nittany Lions defense is as ferocious as they come. Entering Week 11, the Nittany Lions boast the second-highest sack rate (12.55 percent) in the FBS. While defensive end Adisa Isaac (6.5 sacks) is the biggest reason for that, Penn State has six players with at least 2.5 sacks and 10 with at least two through nine games. When you’re that successful at getting after the quarterback, it should come as no surprise to learn that the Nittany Lions hold opponents to 190.4 pass ypg (21st in FBS) with a 114.4 QB rating allowed (13th). As for the Nittany Lions’ run defense, they allowed the fewest rushing yards per game (60.6) and lowest yards per carry average (2.0) among all Power 5 programs.

Here is where he got that information from, in case you’re wondering. I figured someone has to have them credit for it. :pound:

If it doesn’t matter, why did you bother to respond to my comment? You know it takes like 5 seconds to give credit to the author.

You seem awfully sensitive to it. The way you don’t seem to care about stealing other people’s material is the same way Michigan fans feel about their team stealing signs? :noidea: :D

And that argument is how OSU had to live with cooper for 13 years. Could never hardly ever beat mich. Or tough bowl opponents. This is year 9 for Franklin? Patience will wear out soon.

Makes you wonder if Michigan was stealing signs back then…..

That ferocious defense just got steamrolled for 227 on the ground at 5 yards a pop
