Unless your owners are prepared to possibly pay luxury tax for a couple years if need be, I think this is too much guaranteed money.

They are prepared to pay the luxury tax, but both Bogut and Iguodala's decrease each season. Bogut is 12.9, 12, and 11.1 with incentives that could push the value to about 14 a year, but he would have to play 65 games AND make an all NBA team or all Defensive team. Iguodala's deal is 12.9, 12.3, 11.7 and 11.1. Klay can be extended no problem as well as Barnes. Myers is the man and IMO his experience as an agent has been great benefit to his contract dealings.

Bogut would have been a UFA and if he is healthy all season and hits the market, someone was going to give him a Chandler contract. I mean we offered Jordan as a RFA 4/43. This is a great deal and offers protection for the Warriors and gives Bogut some security. GREAT MOVE AGAIN.

Bump, a Bogut FLuff piece, but it begs the question, if Bogut plays 75+ games the next several years, his contract a better value than Steph's 4 year 44 mil extention?

Short answer is No.

Curry is a legitimate franchise player who has a contract averaging 11M per year. He's arguably a top 10 player in the NBA right now. If you took a look at the annual salaries of the top 10 players, not on a rookie contract, it's an absurd steal.

Centers are always overpaid. It's the nature of the position. If you're a decent big man in the NBA you're going to make anywhere from 10-12M a year. Bogut is worth every penny of the extension (so far) but Curry is by far the better deal.
