Okay what are everyone's guesses on the contract we offer KC? I actually feel we should just do a franchise tag on him. Let him prove next year that he is worth what some feel is franchise money. I just don't see paying KC what some franchise QB's are making. He hasn't shown for a full year what he can do so I don't want to put our self in a tough spot by giving him guaranteed money for multiple years.

The fact that he is a free agent will determine how much he gets paid. If we thought there was bitching about him this year wait until next year when he is making a lot of money. LOL Some fans were ready to run Kerrigan out of town earlier this year.

Guys, reality check.. this isnt the 90s or the early 2000's. In todays CAp, you can structure a deal wher it wont kill you even IF you have to get out of it in a year or two. Look at the deal the Niners gave Kaep and the Dolphins gave Tannehill. Neither are the back breaking sink or swim Romo type deals. Fuck even Manning got a deal that averaged $17 million a year. IF the Broncos part ways with him, guess how much they SAVE against the cap.... $19 million.

Seriously quit looking at the deal as a reason to NOT sign him for more than a year. If they think he could be the guy, they need to simply do a longer term (4 or more years) deal and be done with it. Over the long haul its better for team Sanity as well as cap situation.

KC should get 13-16 mil per season.

To me the clearest sign of what the organization thinks of him will be a new contract prior to the end of this season. Anything beyond that will come as a result of what he and his agent does in free agency. I fully expect that there will be offers well above the amount he will get with the FT.

Washington' s best move will be a late season signing or risk having to either match/exceed better offers elsewhere, or FT him. The latter could leave us with a less than pleased QB playing here next year.

He'll get more than that imo. 17-19 per. And when its all said n done. The people who may've been most wrong about Cuz are those who said he'd take a hometown discount. I didn't hear any discount like talk when he said he wanted to be where he felt he was wanted.

Can't be mad at him though. You gotta strike when the iron is hot and its glowin red and sizzlin right now.

Maybe more than even that, which is exactly why they should try to sign him early. Put the onus on his agent, let him advise Kirk to accept or rebuff the contract offer. I never believed that whole hometown discount nonsense, these guys are modern day mercenaries, and will follow the money using that old time worn statement, "In the end, I had to do what I believed to be in the best interest of my family and myself."

Why would KC and his agent even entertain an offer right now? Unless its just flat out ridiculous, there's really no benefit for them. Yeah, players, especially football players are mercenaries. They gotta be cuz HCs, GMs, owners, organizations will drop their asses like a hot crack pipe if they believe they have nothing or little left to give. No one has any loyalty anymore to one another. Not management, coaches, players, fans. See how many Skins fans wanna keep Alf if he ask for or is looking for more money than they think he's worth. Some fans think he's already done and wanna 86 him because of it. If they do get rid of Alf, they're gonna need another RB cuz MJ ain't ready to be a feature back.

I ain't at KC though. Get your money, main! Shit, look at Matt Cassell's ass. He made a career out one half ass decent season in New England.

We're on the same page Breed, my point is that Washington should try now, even if Kirk and his agent ignores them. Why? because DC would then know for sure that they are heading for a bidding war especially if he's offered numbers like some have suggested. Some are already wondering what it would take to retain his services, I believe that Kirk and his people are already looking beyond the 18-19 mil that a FT brings him. BTW: he's already stated that he wants "to be in a place where he feels wanted." If DC attempts to offer him a lowball contract as some have suggested (12-17) he'll feel loved elsewhere, unless Washington FT's him, or meets/exceeds others in that bidding war.

Being "wanted" can mean different things to different people. Remove the RG3 distraction and offer an above average contract right now -- as in today. If Captain Kirk plays lights out over the remainder of the season -- give him more -- make him a top 10 paid quarterback.

That will free the team up to go build around him.

I think KC is waiting on the completion of the season as he feels he's gonna ball out these last two games and that will put him in a position of being the most sought after QB on the 2016 FA market. Yeah, I'm hip about him saying he wanted to be wanted. I'm thinking his wanting to feel wanted ties in directly to who offers him the most money. He also said that discussion is a couple months down the road and there's present issues to deal with.

Listing of 2016 FA QBs. 2016 NFL Free Agents Tracker That's a very unimpressive group as a whole. With a strong finish these last two games. Cousins can put a LAPD chokehold on being 2016's most sought after QB. I don't see any prudent reason for Cousins to sign a deal now. Unless he thinks he's gonna crash and burn in one or both of the last two games.

Sure Cousin's agent is making the decision and he'd be crazy to sign a deal now. The good news, they had him on the cheap this year.

I do agree that they need to 86 Griffin. There's no cap ramifications for the Skins if they outright release Griffin is there? And f they fear him going to a rival in the division, even though I don't think they should. Then tarde his ass to Cleveland or Houston, wherever, for a 7th rd pk. Or a meth pipe full of cracks, a used tampon from last week caked in dried up period blood and crusty yeast infection, whatever.
