How many wins do you think it will take to have the best record in the NFC this year?

It appears most years it is 13. Sometimes 14. I will go with 13 and it may take a tie breaker to secure Home Field through the playoffs for the Hawks. Bears seem to have a weak schedule, but hoping they lose 4 and Det and GB give them a run.

If the Hawks stay relatively injury free, I can see getting to 13+. Who could challenge that? NO, Chi, Det, Dal? Strong run by GB or ATL?

My preseason call for the Hawks was a 13-3 record, 12-4 at worst, baring some injury fest that kills our season. I believe that number will get you the #1 seed this year. While I would love a 14+ win season, that's a tough call with our schedule and div.

12 wins will get you HFA. Obviously besides us, top contenders for the #1 seed are NO and GB. Dallas will probably end up with the 4th seed. Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, SF and yes STL will challenge for the wildcard.

I think you will need 13. That is typically the magic number.
It helps that the 3 teams I thought would be the biggest competition for #1 seed The Falcons, 49ers and Packers are all 1-2. Therefore those teams would have to go 12-1 the rest of the way to get to 13 wins.
The goal should be 5-3 on the road and of course winning the home games. Now we just need 4-3 on the road. I think if we get these next two weeks it will be a huge step towards getting that 1 seed.

Outside of Seattle, there are only 4 other teams with a winning record after the third week: Chicago (3-0), NO (3-0), Dallas (2-1), Detroit (2-1).

Out of those teams, the only one I think that can win a ton of games is NO. Awesome things is that we play them at home this year. The winner of that game will own the tie-breaker and will more than likely be the #1 seed.

On a side note, NO runs the gauntlet these next three weeks. MIAMI, @ Chicago, @ New England. I Suppose we'll know a ton more come three weeks

Way too early to forecast that. We don't know how dominating the other front runners will be yet. If this is a down year for some 12 could steal it, but 13 should be a lock. I'm going to be a lot more interested in that after this stretch of the next 5 games. Get out of them with only a loss or two and 13 could be a legitimate goal.

I want a 16-0 season SO BAD!!

That would be the greatest season in the history of professional football if it were to happen. 5 road games at 10am and facing so many playoff caliber teams and still running the table? Add they would have to navigate all of their now mounting injuries perfectly. I think we'd all love it, but it's just not realistic IMO.

this year i believe its 12. The past few years its been 13 but i feel it drops to 12 this season. Now what i am saying is i believe 12-4 will get you home field through out, but i am not saying that some team wont win 13+.

The last thing we want to do is have to go play in GB in January or N.O. against Brees in that dome.
But especially the frozen tundra in Jan. I know that separates the men for the boys and if so be it, we got to go do it, but still. My biggest fear is GB gets hot and ends up with a 1 game better record than us and the NFC champ game ends up in a 0 degrees windy Lambeau ice rink. F that!!!

That's why HFA this year is a must. 12+ wins is the minimum. I hope we have 13 just to be safe.

The #2 seed would be an excellent backup prize as well. So long as the #1 seed loses their game, we would still get all of our games at home and still get the first round bye
