The further the Spurs fall behind the Warriors, the less likely the Warriors are to set the record. With the Spurs out of the race, the Dubs have little incentive to play out every game. I think the Warriors will go 72 and 10 and tie the record. I'd be satisfied with that.

5-3 finish?

If they beat Utah tonight I believe that they should break the record. Normally teams in this situation would start resting players. However - all indications are that the Warriors want to break this record. If they continue in this manner it is hard to imagine them losing @ home. The biggest threat is the game next week against the Spurs, but there is a good likelihood that the Spurs rest their starters for that game.

Beyond tonight their only remaining road games are vs. Spurs and Grizzlies & you would have to believe that they at least split those (not sure if Spurs would rest starters for that one). Spurs games are a wildcard since Spurs are in unique position where they are basically locked at the #2 position in the West.

Seems like every game in the last two months has been touch and go. They could have had several more losses. They do always seem to pull the games out but they may feel less and less inclined to play all their starters big minutes if the top seed is locked up.

Look what happened last night against the Wizards; with six minutes left they pull the starters with a 19-point lead. 3 minutes later the starters have to come in again since the subs have blown the lead and its down to six.

A loss tonight in Utah would not surprise me, nor would a split with San Antonio. Then all they need to do is come in unprepared to play one more time and there are your three losses.

Hope they don't beat the record, for us to always be reminded why Jordan is the GOAT with the 72-10. But Curry is GOATing too much this season..

I remember that 95-96 Bulls team. At one point they were 41-3. Only one time did they lose 2 in a row. Their last 3 losses were all by 1 point. They probably should have gone 75-7 or something like that but in the last month, Jordan and Pippen were only averaging 30 minutes a game to preserve them for the playoffs.

Wasn't the only time they lost 2 in a row in the finals vs the Sonics ?

With only 2 games left on the road and 5 left at home, you figure that they'll go at least 5-2 because they'll probably finish with a perfect regular season home record. I think they'll beat the Grizzlies on the road, so I'll go with 74-8.

Spurs are likely to rest everybody both games. 75-7 is a distinct possibility.

Warriors haven't lost 2 in a row yet this year either, and they won't (in the regular season).

Just like with Jordan and the Bulls, with Curry and the Warriors we are witnessing historical greatness in real time. This is what we watch the sport for.

Some saying last nights win over Utah was their best win of the season. I get that but the win against OKC on 2/27 is pretty tough to beat.

Well last nights game threw a wrench in things. The spurs will beat them at least one time.
